  • On-ride/In-attraction photography and videography is prohibited, except for META glasses, which must be properly worn, secured, and strapped. Attraction attendants reserve the right to refuse allowance.
  • Requests for POV footage should be made through the Carowinds PR department and will only be granted to select projects. Pre-recorded footage is available upon request.
  • The park does not allow selfie sticks, tripods, monopods, etc. All equipment used in the park must be handheld.
  • Unsolicited photographing or video recording that disrupts a guest’s experience or interferes with park operations is not permitted.
  • While on an attraction, photographed guest(s) must be participating in a way prescribed by the attraction manufacturer.
  • During SCarowinds, photography or filming inside mazes or scare zones is strictly forbidden. Violations may lead to park eviction.
  • Interviews with guests, associates, or vendors require prior coordination with the Carowinds' communications department.
  • Unauthorized filming crews and extensive filming equipment, including tripods and external lights, require explicit permission for usage within the park.

Drone Policy: All drones (Unmanned Aerial Systems) are strictly prohibited. Any unauthorized drone(s) observed over Carowinds will be reported to the FAA and local law enforcement, regardless of its point of origin or operation.
