Cookie Policy

We use cookies, which are small data files that are placed on the hard drive of your computer, tablet, smartphone or other device when you visit a website, and other tracking tools on our Site. Some cookies are functional and enable additional functionality when a user accesses the Site (e.g. allows users to save user preferences or language suggestions). Other cookies are non-functional and allow the Site and third parties to tailor messages and advertising relevant to a user’s interests. When we refer to “cookies,” this includes other similar technologies such as pixel tags, or web beacons.

Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies to improve your website experience, collect information about the ways visitors use this Site, support the features and functionality of this Site, personalize your experience when you use this Site, improve our marketing efforts, provide additional security, and remember you when you return to the Site. A cookie cannot give us access to your computer or to information beyond what you provide us.

Types of Cookies We Use

We use the following types of cookies on our Site:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are necessary for the Site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personal information.
  • Performance Cookies: These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our Site, and will not be able to monitor its performance.
  • Functionality Cookies: These cookies enable the Site to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.
  • Targeting Cookies: These cookies may be set through our Site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
  • Social Media Cookies: These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the Site to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other websites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.

Cookie Choices and Preferences

You can confirm your website cookie preferences through the interface in the cookies banner provided on the homepage of our Site. You can also set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies and refuse the cookie when your browser alerts you to its presence, or refuse all cookies by turning them off in your browser.

Google Analytics

Our Site uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyze how users use the Site and to improve the Site services, communications and user experience. The information generated by the cookies about your use of the Site (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers controlled by Google in the United States or other jurisdictions selected by Google. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the websites, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where it is required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf or where Google is permitted to do so under its privacy policy. Please visit the Google Analytics privacy policy available at https://policies.google.com/privacy additional information regarding how Google processes and protects your data collected through Google Analytics.

By using our Site, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Additional Information

Other third-parties may deliver cookies to your computer or mobile device for the purpose of tracking your online behaviors over time and across nonaffiliated websites and/or delivering targeted advertisements either on this Site or on other websites. You have choices about the collection of information by third-parties on our Sites. For example, if you don’t want information about your visit to this Site sent to Google Analytics, you may download an Opt-out Browser Add at http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

Please note that the Add-on does not prevent information from being sent to Six Flags. In addition, if you would like to opt-out of having interest-based information collected by certain entities during your visits to this Site or other websites, you can do so on the NAI website at http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp.

You will be directed to an industry-developed website that contains mechanisms for choosing whether each listed entity may collect and use data for online behavioral advertising purposes. It may be that some of the third-parties that collect interest-based information on this Site do not participate in the industry-developed opt-out website, in which case the best way to avoid third-party tracking of your online behaviors may be through your browser settings and deletion of cookies.

You can also learn more about cookies and set cookies preferences at https://www.allaboutcookies.org and https://www.aboutads.info/choices.

Your Choices

We respect your right to make choices about the ways we collect, use, and disclose your information. In addition to your choices listed above in the Cookie Policy and below in the U.S. State-Specific Privacy Rights sections, we provide the following choices:

  • Do Not Track Mechanisms. Do Not Track (DNT) is a privacy preference you can set in most browsers. There is no standard interpretation or practice for responding to DNT signals, so we handle all user information consistent with this Policy. Because of the changing state of technology and indecision within the industry regarding the meaning of DNT signals, we currently do not make any guarantee that we will honor DNT signals. For more details, you can visit allaboutdnt.com.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC). GPC is a setting you can enable in your web browser to communicate your privacy preference for not having certain information about your webpage visits collected across websites. For all the details, including how to turn on GPC, visit https://globalprivacycontrol.org/.
  • Emails. You can unsubscribe from emails and other electronic notifications by a link included in every such communication.
  • Online Account. You can keep your contact information and payment methods accurate and up to date by logging into your account on our Site. If you wish to cancel your account, email us at consumermarketing@sixflags.com.
  • Account Settings. When you sign up for an account or use certain features, you are opting to receive messages from other users, businesses, and from Six Flags. You can manage some of your messaging preferences through your account settings, but note that you cannot opt out of receiving certain administrative, transactional, or legal messages from Six Flags.
  • Social Media: This Privacy Policy does not cover the privacy and security practices of social media platforms on which we have Social Media Pages. Please review the terms, policies, and settings of those social media platforms if you have questions about how they collect and use your data.
  • Online Advertising. For information about opting out of third party advertising, visit: https://optout.networkadvertising.org/ or https://digitaladvertisingalliance.org/. You will leave this Site for a separately managed online site where you can specify your preferences. We may use more than one third party company for placing this advertising, which would require you to opt out of each company.
  • Previously Expressed Preferences. You may change previously expressed preferences regarding how we use your information. To change your preferences, please contact us using the information provided below.
