Vortex

Vortex
Vortex opened to much anticipation in 1992 due to its unconventional stand-up trains. This ride is a long-time favorite among park visitors and roller coaster enthusiasts alike.
After boarding the South's first stand-up roller coaster, riders begin the climb up the ride’s 90-foot lift hill. After an exhilarating, curved first drop, Vortex soars into a large vertical loop, followed by an oblique loop. Passengers are then taken down into a carousel maneuver. This thrilling ride comes to an end after looping through a flat spin.
Vortex is a classic that evokes nostalgia in many of our seasoned park-goers. It’s also known for its nice views of the park and its jolting twists and turns.
