Because Six Flags is a family park, we expect guests to behave appropriately. Violating our park policies may be cause for ejection from the park without refund. For more information, please review the park policies below.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom accepts card and mobile payments only at all locations including restaurants, retail stores, games, ticket windows, and parking toll booths. You can either pay for purchases using a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a debit card. Only have cash? You can convert your cash to a prepaid debit card at one of the multiple kiosks located throughout the park and anywhere in the U.S. where Visa is accepted. We highly encourage you to pre-purchase your parking, tickets, and more online before visiting the park.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought on Six Flags Discovery Kingdom property.
We expect all guests to behave in a family-friendly manner. Line jumping, profanity and unruly behavior are offensive to park guests and may be cause for ejection without refund. Guests are not permitted to save places in line, bypass others in line, or exit the line and return to the same place for any reason. Guests exiting a line must go to the back of the line if they choose to return. Guests must also refrain from behaving in an unsafe manor which includes running, climbing on railings or barriers and entering restricted areas. During Fright Fest, touching or harassing scareactors/zombies is also prohibited.
In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere, and for health and safety reasons, Six Flags strictly enforces a dress code. Proper attire must be worn at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear. Clothing or tattoos with offensive language or graphics are not permitted at any time.
Examples of clothing not permitted are those displaying:
- Graphic violence
- Support of drugs and drug use
- Gang symbols
- Promotion of discrimination against any group
Park admission may be denied if clothing or tattoos are deemed to be inappropriate by management and the Guest refuses all reasonable options. Shirts cannot be turned inside out as a solution. Clothing that could be considered revealing and viewed as inappropriate for a family environment, which include and are not limited to bathing suits, sports bras, or other interior clothing worn as exterior clothing are also prohibited.
For your safety, certain rides may need to close during severe weather, such as electrical storms, heavy rain, or high winds. Most restaurants, theaters and shops will remain open. Rides will re-open as soon as safe operations can be assured. Refunds and rain checks are not offered for inclement weather.
Guests using profanity or abusive language, symbols or gestures may be ejected from the park without refund.
Line jumping is strictly prohibited. Guests are not permitted to save places in line or exit the line and return for any reason. Violators will be ejected without a refund.
Need to store something? There are lockers available near Main Plaza.
Loose articles are not permitted on most rides and should be left with non-riders or secured in lockers. Six Flags and its employees are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Loose articles of any kind (including but not limited to purses, backpacks, and beverage containers) may not be taken past the queue entrance and cannot be left on the load/unload platform of the following rides: Medusa; Kong; The Joker; SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight. Cell phones, pagers, or other small items must be secured in cargo pockets, zippered jacket pockets, or waist packs. All loose articles which cannot be secured must be left in a locker or with a non-rider prior to entering the queue line. Waist packs are not allowed on SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight and The Joker for your safety and must be secured in a locker or left with a non-rider.
Pets are not allowed, with the exception of working service animals.
The following items are not permitted at any time:
- Food (except special diet and infant food)
- Hard or Styrofoam Coolers
- Lawn/folding chairs
- Magic markers, spray paint
- Aerosol cans
- Glass bottles
- Self-defense key chains
- Attire with “Security, “Police” or “S.W.A.T”
- Disposable straws/lids
- Portable/Bluetooth speakers
- Spiked clothing/jewelry
- Face paint
- Halloween props
- Costume Masks
- Chemical weapons/mace/pepper spray
- Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones)
- Selfie sticks, monopods, and similar devices
- Controlled substances
- Marijuana/marijuana products
- High/reflective visibility vests
- Clothing that could be used to conceal or avoid identification
- Motorcycle Helmets
- Personal hovercraft or Segway type devices
- non-ADA wheeled devices, such as scooters, bikes, skateboards etc
- Wheeled shoes
By entering the park, guests grant Six Flags the right to film, video, record or photograph them on park property for any reason without payment or consideration. Six Flags requests that all photographs or video taken by our guests be used for their personal use and enjoyment only. Any use, reuse or reproduction for commercial purposes without the express written consent of Six Flags is strictly prohibited. Six Flags reserves the right to refuse to allow photography of any kind as necessary at individual locations. No commercial photography of any kind is permitted. Specifically, the use of the following equipment is not permitted:
- Go Pro cameras
- Lenses greater than three-and-one-half inches in length
- Interchangeable lenses of any kind
- Any camera mounted to a vehicle, drone, cart, scooter or other moving object
- No cameras (video, still, cell-phone, smart phones, etc.) are allowed on any rides at any time. No exceptions.
All Six Flags rides, shows and attractions are protected by copyright. Guests must have written permission to use photographs and/or videotape of Six Flags images for commercial broadcasting, advertising, marketing or publishing in any medium.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is a privately owned property that invites the general public to enjoy the Park facilities and attractions. Although the Park is not a public forum, Six Flags recognizes the importance of providing small groups or individuals with the opportunity to conduct peaceful assemblies.

Some rides and shows will close temporarily during electrical storms, heavy rains, high winds and other severe weather conditions. As soon as conditions permit safe operation, these attractions will re-open. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom does not issue rain checks or refunds.
Loitering or soliciting on park property, without prior approval, including in the parking lots, are prohibited. All guests are required to leave park property once park operating hours have ended for the day. To loiter includes remaining in an area for no legitimate reason.
To leave the park and re-enter on the same day, please get your hand stamped and re-enter at the re-entry gate. This includes Season Pass holders. Season Passes are only valid to scan once per day.
Safety is our number one priority. Guests with certain body proportions or of certain heights and/or weights may not be able to enjoy certain rides if the safety restraints will not operate as designed. Height restrictions and special warnings can be found at the entrance of every ride.
There is an inherent risk in participating in any amusement ride. We expect riders to exercise good judgment and act in a responsible manner. Guests must also obey all oral and written warnings and properly use all ride safety equipment provided. Guests who do not comply with ride rules may be ejected from the park without refund. Please refer to specific guidelines posted at the entrance of every ride.
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is a smoke-free environment. However, designated smoking areas are located throughout the park. Please consult the park map for exact locations. Marijuana is strictly prohibited.
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests, Six Flags prohibits the operation or use of any unmanned aerial vehicle on, from, or above Six Flags’ premises absent specific written consent. This includes all UAVs, also commonly known as “drones,” regardless of their size, weight or purpose.
