Lion’s Lair

Come see this coalition of male African Lions at Lion’s Lair. Although you typically see lions living in large groups called prides, it is not uncommon for young males in the wild to get kicked out of their pride and form “bachelor” groups called coalitions in which several males will live together.

You may see our lions wrestling around with each other, playing with their toys, or taking a nice long nap in the sun. Get there early or just before the Land Animal Area closes to see them most active.
