Bakunawa is taking another major step toward its 2027 debut at Six Flags Great Adventure.
Park teams have officially begun assembling the coaster's ride vehicles, bringing the highly anticipated attraction one step closer to welcoming its first riders. Nine of the coaster's 10 ride cars are currently being assembled, with the remaining vehicle already completed and on-site. Once finished, guests will ride aboard two five-car trains, including a striking green train and purple train.
"Train assembly is one of those exciting milestones that brings a coaster to life," said Ryan Eldredge, Director of Sales and Marketing at Six Flags Great Adventure. "Guests have followed Bakunawa's progress from the earliest stages of construction, and seeing the ride vehicles come together is another visible sign that we're moving closer to the next phase of the project."
Each vehicle consists of a ride chassis topped with a fully assembled seat gondola. The assembly process takes approximately one week per car and is being completed by the park's ride mechanics and ride electricians.
"Behind the scenes, our teams are meticulously assembling each vehicle to ensure everything is ready for installation," said Steven Kolczynski, Construction Manager at Six Flags Great Adventure. "Once assembly is complete, the next stop is putting the trains on the track."
With train assembly now underway, the next major milestone will be vehicle installation and testing as construction continues on what will become the world's tallest and fastest spinning launch coaster.
