Six Flags Friends is a series of programs throughout the Six Flags family of parks that make a difference in communities by encouraging local involvement, supporting the mission of various non-profit organizations and bringing the thrill of Six Flags to children and families across North America.
Six Flags Friends is a proud supporter of hundreds of organizations throughout our Six Flags communities. Through our national partnerships, we successfully utilize our geographic span to make a difference as a unified family of parks. Through our donation program we are able to contribute to many local organizations. Six Flags New England is also pleased to support the work of organizations that make an impact in our surrounding neighborhoods. It is the work of the organizations below that truly make our cities a better place to live, work and enjoy.
Six Flags Friends is dedicated to furthering the mission of the following organizations:
Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
Every fall, Six Flags Friends and Six Flags New England hosts a fundraising walk with over 3000 people participating. The walkers come to the park before it opens; they walk a course through the park and earn a Six Flags ticket when they raise over $50. In current years, the walk made over $450,000.
Baystate Children's Hospital
Baystate Children's Hospital, located within Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, provides advanced medical care to babies, children and adolescents in an environment that focuses exclusively on the needs of children and families throughout the region. Six Flags Friends and the Looney Tunes characters are happy to visit the hospital once a month to interact with the children and help lift their spirits. Six Flags supported the Coins for Cures 2012 program as the presenting sponsor—helping kids raise $90,000 for Boston Children’s!
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. Six Flags is proud to be a part of this amazing wish-granting organization and is excited to fulfill the wishes of children who dream of visiting Six Flags New England.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross has been the nation's premier emergency response organization. As part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war, the American Red Cross distinguished itself by also aiding victims of devastating natural disasters. Six Flags Friends is happy to donate one day passes to the local American Red Cross chapter as an incentive for volunteers to donate blood.
The YMCA of Greater Springfield is the second oldest YMCA in the country and the third oldest in North America. Serving 14 cities and towns in Western Massachusetts, the Y of Greater Springfield is dedicated to programs for Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
