James Lincoln

Presenting March 9, 2027

James Lincoln, MS, MEd, is a master physics teacher with two decades of experience teaching science at the middle school, high school, and higher education levels, including UCLA and Stanford. He specializes in hands-on experiments, interactive simulations, and STEAM program development. For the past twelve years, Professor Lincoln has directed Southern California’s New Physics Teacher Workshop program and regularly provides science outreach shows for libraries and elementary schools. He is also a staff writer for the American Association of Physics Teachers’ journal, The Physics Teacher, where he edits the high school column.

George Patrick Lightholder (Dr. Flubber)

Presenting March 10, 2027

George Patrick Lightholder (Dr. Flubber) is a longtime science educator who has been bringing science to life for students at Knott’s Berry Farm for more than 20 years. He earned his master’s degree in science education and spent 38 years teaching in the Montebello Unified School District before retiring. Throughout his career, George has also presented at conferences for science educators, including the Good Teaching Conference and San Diego Science Teachers Conference. As Dr. Flubber, he combines decades of classroom experience with engaging science demonstrations designed to make learning memorable and fun.

Dr. Flubber’s Science Show

Dr. Flubber brings physics to life through surprising, hands-on science demonstrations! Students will explore how science is at work all around them as he demonstrates the forces behind air pressure, flight, motion, and even the creation of polymers. From sending a flying cylinder through the air to inflating an eight-foot balloon with a single breath, Dr. Flubber uses everyday materials and unexpected experiments to help middle school and junior high students discover the physics behind the world around them.

Jim Pacelli

James Pacelli began his teaching career with LAUSD in 1968 before joining Westminster High School, where he taught science until his retirement in 2005. During his career, he served as department chair and taught biology, chemistry, and AP Physics.

Working alongside Knott’s Berry Farm and fellow science educators from the Huntington Beach Union High School District, Mr. Pacelli helped establish the first Physics Day at Knott’s Berry Farm in 1999. He has remained an integral part of the program as it has grown from a small gathering of physics students into the educational event now known as STEAM Day.

Kathy Iverson

Kathy Iverson is one of the original founders of Knott’s Physics Day. Alongside Jim Pacelli, she helped develop the program and has remained involved as it has evolved into today’s STEAM Day.

Kathy earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry from California State University, Fullerton, along with teaching credentials in chemistry, mathematics, and physics. She spent her teaching career with the Huntington Beach Union High School District, serving in several leadership roles while teaching Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics, and Mathematics at Westminster High School. Following her retirement in 2008, she continued serving the district as a School Board Member from 2010 to 2018.

Kimberly Gonzalez

Kimberly Gonzalez is a dedicated educator at Westminster High School, where she serves as co-coordinator of the school’s STEAM program, MERITS. Throughout her teaching career, she has taught a variety of science courses, including Integrated Science, Physical Science, Biology, Environmental Science, and AP Environmental Science.

Kimberly has also been a longtime volunteer with Knott’s educational programs, supporting Physics Day and its evolution into STEAM Day for more than two decades.

Aaren Heller

Aaren Heller is a science educator at Westminster High School, where she teaches physics, chemistry, and environmental science. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Boston University and her Master of Arts in Teaching from UC Irvine. In the classroom, Aaren emphasizes scientific literacy, a growth mindset, and active student participation.

Jeff Larson

Jeff is a retired science and physics educator from Fountain Valley High School and a key member of the planning committee for Knott’s educational programs. He helps develop and oversee the lesson plans and hands-on activities featured during STEAM Day, working alongside fellow educators and the Knott’s Berry Farm team to create engaging learning experiences for participating students.

Jeff continues to volunteer during STEAM Day, sharing his experience and passion for science education with students and helping bring the program’s educational activities to life.
