Viper

Slither and scream through five inversions on Darien Lake’s original thrill coaster - Viper! For decades, guests have flocked to this steel serpent for a one-of-a-kind adrenaline-packed ride. But watch out, because this snake has a bite!

The ride begins with a slow 121-foot ascent above Darien Lake, where you’ll have a brief moment to take in a panoramic view of the park. Then, without warning, the Viper strikes with a 70-foot plunge into a vertical loop, followed by its signature double inversion - the batwing maneuver. The ride pauses for a moment, but it’s not long before the Viper closes in on its next target. The coaster dives to the right and coils riders through a dizzying double corkscrew, but it’s still not over yet. For its finale move, riders are forced into the belly of the beast as the Viper wraps around a 360-degree helix through a pitch black tunnel.

With over 3,000 feet of coiling track, this coaster will leave you disoriented, screaming, and wanting to do it all over again. Viper has been the first roller coaster for millions of Darien Lake guests, and it continues to be a legendary experience that proves “classic” never goes out of style.
