Six Flags Great Adventure and Project Purple Partner to Turn Thrills Into Something Bigger
Six Flags Great Adventure’s 2027 coaster project is taking on a greater purpose through a new partnership with Project Purple, helping raise awareness and support for pancreatic cancer research and patient care.

Something powerful is rising at Six Flags Great Adventure.
As construction continues on the park’s highly anticipated 2027 coaster project, currently known as “Project Purple,” Six Flags Great Adventure is proud to announce a meaningful new partnership with Project Purple, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer through research funding, patient support and awareness initiatives.
While the towering new coaster is already transforming the park’s skyline, this partnership gives the project a purpose that goes far beyond thrills.
A Partnership Built Around Awareness and Impact
Through June 1, 2027, Six Flags Great Adventure and Project Purple will work together to create awareness opportunities, fundraising initiatives and special moments designed to support pancreatic cancer patients and their families.
“This partnership is especially meaningful to me personally, having lost my father to pancreatic cancer,” said Mike Fehnel, park president of Six Flags Great Adventure. “As Project Purple rises on our skyline, we have an opportunity to raise awareness, inspire support and create a meaningful connection between unforgettable experiences and real impact.”
Project Purple has spent more than two decades helping families impacted by pancreatic cancer while also funding critical research efforts aimed at improving treatment outcomes and ultimately finding a cure.
Guests Will See Project Purple Throughout the Park
Guests visiting the park will begin seeing Project Purple messaging and informational signage throughout Six Flags Great Adventure, along with opportunities to learn more about the organization and ways to support its mission.
Additional announcements will be revealed throughout the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
The Future of the 2027 Coaster Project
The partnership also adds a deeper layer of meaning to one of the most ambitious projects in park history.
Currently under construction along The Boardwalk, the 2027 attraction is expected to be one of the tallest coasters in the world and a record-breaking multi-launch experience that will redefine the park’s skyline.
Now, it will also help shine a light on a cause that impacts countless families across the country.
