How to Get Over Your Fear of Roller Coasters
If the thought of strapping into a coaster car fills you with dread, you are far from alone. Check out our helpful tips on how to conquer your fear of roller coasters.

At Six Flags, fun and safety go hand in hand. Every roller coaster, water park, attraction and live entertainment experience is designed with one goal in mind: creating unforgettable memories in a safe, family-friendly environment for our guests and team members.
That is why inappropriate, unsafe and unruly behavior has no place in our parks.
Theme Park Safety Is Everyone’s Responsibility
Theme park safety is a shared responsibility between Six Flags and our guests. Our parks operate under strict safety standards, and every rule, guideline and instruction is in place to protect guests, team members and the overall experience.
Following all posted amusement park rules and directions from team members is essential to ensuring a safe visit.
This includes adhering to ride safety policies, such as properly securing or leaving behind loose articles before boarding. Items like cell phones, keys and even food are strictly prohibited on rides because they can become dangerous projectiles or choking hazards.
When guests ignore these policies, they risk their own safety and the safety of everyone around them.
Unsafe Behavior Is Not Content
Recently, an individual intentionally violated roller coaster safety rules by bringing a prohibited item onboard and using the experience to create social media content. This behavior was deliberate, unsafe and a clear violation of Six Flags safety policies and team member instructions.
Our response was immediate and decisive. The individual was held accountable under our Guest Code of Conduct, reinforcing a critical message: unsafe actions performed for attention, content creation or online engagement will not be tolerated.
Social media trends and content creation do not excuse unsafe, disruptive or destructive behavior, including vandalism. No post, video or viral moment is worth compromising the safety of our guests or team members or damaging park property.
Six Flags Code of Conduct: Clear Rules, Real Consequences
The Six Flags Guest Code of Conduct is designed to protect every guest experience across our amusement parks and water parks. It strictly prohibits unsafe behavior, disruptive conduct and any actions that could harm others or damage property.
Guests who violate these policies are not welcome in our parks.
Consequences for breaking Six Flags park rules can include:
These actions help ensure that Six Flags remains a safe, enjoyable destination for millions of guests each year.
Creating a Safe and Enjoyable Theme Park Experience
Most guests visit Six Flags to enjoy world-class roller coasters, water attractions and family entertainment. Respectful behavior allows everyone to enjoy a safe, fun and memorable park experience.
Disruptive actions, especially those intended for viral videos or social media attention, take away from that shared experience and will be addressed quickly and appropriately.
We ask all guests to be responsible, respectful and aware of how their actions impact others.
Follow all Six Flags safety rules. Listen to team members. Respect the park and fellow guests.
