At Six Flags, creating unforgettable moments has always been at the heart of everything we do. Every twist, turn, splash, and scream-worthy drop is driven by one mission: bringing joy to millions of guests and families year after year. Sometimes, staying true to that mission means making thoughtful decisions about where we focus our energy so we can keep delivering the thrills and experiences our guests expect.

Today, we’re sharing an important update about the future of Six Flags—one that strengthens our foundation, sharpens our focus, and supports long-term growth across our parks.

Streamlining Our Portfolio to Focus on What Matters Most

As part of our ongoing strategy to optimize and strengthen our park portfolio, Six Flags has entered into definitive agreements to sell seven parks to EPR Properties. These parks include:

  • Michigan’s Adventure (Muskegon, MI)
  • Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston (Galveston, TX)
  • Six Flags Great Escape (Queensbury, NY)
  • Six Flags La Ronde (Montreal, QC)
  • Six Flags St. Louis (St. Louis, MO)
  • Valleyfair (Minneapolis, MN)
  • Worlds of Fun (Kansas City, MO)

This step allows us to concentrate on the Six Flags parks with the greatest potential for innovation, expansion, and elevated guest experiences. That means by focusing today, we’re building the foundation for a stronger, more exciting future.

What This Means for Our Guests

First and foremost: guest experience remains a top priority.

EPR Properties will partner with experienced operators—Enchanted Parks for the six U.S. parks and La Ronde Operations, Inc. for La Ronde—to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. Here’s what you can expect:

  • All seven parks will continue normal operations through the 2026 season.
  • All 2026 season passes and active memberships will be honored throughout 2026, including multi‑park access.
  • EPR retains the right to use the Six Flags brand through 2026, which means you will continue to see the same names, signage, and experiences during this transition period.

In short, that means uninterrupted fun. Learn more in our FAQs at the end of this blog.

A Thoughtful Decision

We understand how meaningful these parks are to the communities they serve and to the guests who have grown up visiting them. Our teams at these locations have created countless memories, and they are an important part of the Six Flags family.

We are confident in the future of these parks under the care of EPR and its operating partners, who have strong experience managing parks of this scale. At the same time, this decision allows Six Flags to invest more deeply in the parks with the greatest opportunity for growth and innovation.

Building a Brighter Future for Six Flags

Looking ahead, we’re excited about the opportunities this transition creates. With a more focused collection of 34 Six Flags parks across North America, a stronger financial position, and a renewed commitment to operational excellence, we are better positioned than ever to:

  • Invest in new rides and attractions
  • Upgrade park infrastructure and technology
  • Enhance guest experience with more immersive entertainment
  • Introduce innovations that make every visit even more memorable

Our purpose is unchanged: to deliver thrills, create memories, and offer the kind of fun that only Six Flags can bring to life.

This next chapter isn’t just about creating a more focused company, it is about unlocking our full potential and building a stronger Six Flags for our guests, our team members and our communities.

Thank you for being part of the Six Flags family.

All 2026 season passes and active memberships will be valid through the 2026 operating season, including multi-park pass privileges to other parks within the Six Flags’ portfolio.

If I bought a regional pass and one of the parks has been sold, can I still use my pass to visit that park?

Yes, all 2026 season passes and active memberships will be valid through the 2026 operating season, including multi-park pass privileges to other parks within the Six Flags’ portfolio.

Following the sale of these parks, how will my season pass access change in 2026?

All 2026 Season Pass and Active Memberships will maintain their multi-park admission benefit to other parks through the 2026 season.

Can I cancel my Membership (prior to the 12-month contract)?

While your agreement may include a minimum term, we understand that changes like this can raise questions and influence your initial decision. As such, we are providing the flexibility for you to cancel after the sale is completed should you choose to do so, even if you have not yet fulfilled your minimum term commitment.

Can I change my “home park” for my Membership?

Memberships are tied to the original “home park” selected at the time of purchase and cannot be automatically transferred to a different park. If you would prefer to have a different home park, you may cancel your current membership after the sale is completed and enroll in a new membership at any participating Six Flags park of your choice. Please note that new memberships are subject to the pricing, benefits, and terms in effect at the time of enrollment.

Is single-day or season pass pricing changing?

This transaction will not affect current pricing. After the sale is complete, any future pricing decisions at those seven parks will be made by the new owners.

Is my hotel reservation still valid at Great Escape Lodge?

There is no impact to hotel reservations. All current hotel reservations will be honored.

Is my planned event through the Group Sales department still happening?

The parks will continue their regular operating schedules, and all group sales events will continue as planned. We’re committed to making sure that exciting experiences for our guests and groups continue without interruption.

Are my loyalty perks still valid?

Yes. Any loyalty perks that have already been loaded to your account will remain valid and can be used in accordance with their stated terms.

What happens to my loyalty perks for the balance of 2026?

We load loyalty perks on a monthly basis. Perks that have already been issued will be honored. Any future perks that would have been loaded after the transition will be determined by new ownership.

What kind of loyalty program will be available in 2027?

The new owners will determine the 2027 loyalty program, and they’ll share details once plans are finalized.

Is my Dining Pass / Fast Lane / Photo Pass / Drink Plan still valid?

Details on how these programs will be handled are still being worked through and information will be shared prior to completion of the sale of these seven parks. Per the Terms and Conditions of your dining plan, participating locations and menus are subject to change. Consistent with that provision, we are updating the participating parks for the 2026 season to reflect the new Six Flags portfolio. To ensure you are receiving fair value for your dining plan purchase, we are providing you with a $10 credit to be used in F&B at your home park this season.

Will there be new security rules? / Will there still be a chaperone policy? / Is there a new loose articles/locker policy? / Are ride safety restrictions changing?

Once the sale is complete, policy decisions will be made by Enchanted and La Ronde Operations, Inc. as they will be operating the parks.
