Everything You Need to Know Before You Come to Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland

The fog is rolling in, the monsters are coming out, and Halloween Haunt at Canada’s Wonderland is taking over the park.

With haunted attractions, scare zones, live entertainment and your favourite rides running after dark, there’s a lot to fit into one night. Whether this is your first Halloween Haunt or you come back every fall, knowing a few things before you arrive can help you make the most of your night.

Is Canada’s Wonderland Halloween Haunt Recommended for Kids?

Halloween Haunt is our nighttime Halloween event, and it’s designed to be scary.

Throughout the night, you’ll encounter monsters roaming the park, scare zones, frightening imagery and immersive haunted experiences. Because of the intensity of the event, Halloween Haunt is not recommended for guests under 13.

Visiting with younger kids? Join us on weekends for Tricks & Treats! This daytime event offers family-friendly Halloween fun during the day without the scares of Halloween Haunt.

KidZville and Planet Snoopy remain open until 8 p.m., but there’s an important timing difference to keep in mind: Halloween Haunt monsters begin roaming the park at 6 p.m. If you’re visiting with little ones who may be frightened by the monsters, we recommend wrapping up your visit before 6 p.m.

Children under 10 may wear costumes while attending Tricks & Treats, but costumes are not permitted after 6 p.m.

Visiting With Teens? Know the Chaperone Policy

If you’re visiting Halloween Haunt with teens, make sure you’re familiar with our Chaperone Policy before arriving.

Beginning at 4 p.m. Guests ages 15 and younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to enter or remain in the park after 4 p.m.

One chaperone may accompany no more than 10 guests ages 15 or younger per day. Chaperones must accompany their party during entry, remain inside the park throughout the visit and be available by phone. They may be asked to present a valid government-issued photo ID to verify their age, and guests ages 16 and older may also be asked. Please ensure it’s a physical ID and not a copy or photo.

What Does Fall Admission Include?

Your Fall Admission gets you into the park to experience Halloween Haunt - explore scare zones filled with roaming monsters, catch live entertainment throughout the park and take on many of your favourite rides and roller coasters after dark.

You can spend your night making your way through the fog, encountering monsters around the park, catching a show or heading from coaster to coaster - all included with your Fall Admission.

Looking to brave the haunted mazes? Access to the mazes requires a Haunted Attractions Pass or Haunted Attractions Express Pass. The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is also a separate experience and requires its own pass.

Reminder, rides in Planet Snoopy and KidZville will close at 8 p.m. Ride availability is subject to change due to weather, maintenance and other operational considerations.

Want to Experience the Haunted Mazes? You’ll Need a Haunted Attractions Pass

If haunted mazes are on your must-do list, you’ll need to add a Haunted Attractions Pass to your visit. The Conjuring: Beyond Fear also requires a separate experience pass.

Knowing what you want to experience before you arrive can help you choose the right add-ons for your night.

The Haunted Attractions Pass gives you access to participating haunted mazes during one Halloween Haunt visit.

Want to spend less time waiting and more time exploring Haunt? The Haunted Attractions Express Pass includes maze access plus Express entry, allowing you to bypass the regular lines at participating haunted attractions.

Planning multiple nights at Halloween Haunt? The All-Season Haunted Attractions Pass gives you access to participating haunted attractions throughout the current Haunt season, so you don’t need to purchase maze access each time you visit.

And remember, The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is a separate experience and is not included with these passes.

The Conjuring: Beyond Fear

The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is an immersive, interactive experience inspired by New Line Cinema’s iconic horror franchise, The Conjuring Universe. Step inside some of the most chilling moments from the films as you come face-to-face with familiar characters, environments and scares.

Unlike all our other mazes that are included in the Haunted Attractions Pass, The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is a separately ticketed experience and requires a Conjuring Experience Pass.

New this year, there’s also a photo opportunity! Giving you another way to capture your visit before heading back into the fog.

There’s also a new way to queue for The Conjuring: Beyond Fear this year, giving you more time to experience the rest of Halloween Haunt instead of waiting in a physical line.

After purchasing your Conjuring Experience Pass online, you’ll receive an email prompting you to set up your account. Please use the same email used to purchase the tickets. Once you get into the park on the day of your visit, use the link that can be found on the ticket or there will be QR codes around the park for you to scan and sign up for a virtual queue. You will be informed of the time to head to The Conjuring located by Wonder Mountain by Krachewagen.

Once you arrive, you’ll need to redeem your pass for a wristband. Wristband redemption is available at locations throughout the park, including:

Grab your wristband early in the night and you’ll be ready when it’s time to take on your first haunted attraction.

Know Before You Go

Before heading into the fog, there are a few other important things to know about entering Halloween Haunt.

All bags are subject to search prior to entry. There is no re-entry during Halloween Haunt on Thursdays and Fridays. On weekends, re-entry ends at 7 p.m. If you leave the park earlier in the day and plan to return for Halloween Haunt that evening, make sure you’re back through the gates before 7 p.m.

Don’t wait until the end of the night to arrive, either. Guests must enter the park before 10 p.m., or before 11 p.m. on Fridays. No entry will be permitted after these times.

Not looking for quite as many scares? A No Boo Necklace lets our monsters know that you would prefer not to be scared while exploring certain areas of Halloween Haunt. They can be purchased online or at the Canada’s Wonderland Store. If you purchase yours online, visit the Canada’s Wonderland Store when you arrive to redeem it.

While wearing an illuminated No Boo Necklace, our monsters will make an effort not to scare you where the necklace is permitted. However, a No Boo Necklace does not guarantee a scare-free night.

No Boo Necklaces are not permitted inside haunted mazes or scare zones and must be turned off while you are in these areas. You may still encounter monsters and scares throughout your visit, so keep this in mind when deciding whether Halloween Haunt is right for you.
