Dorney Park in the Off-Season: Strengthening Our Community, One Partnership at a Time

While the park rests, our teams lean into charitable giving and hands-on community engagement — supporting the groups, families, and organizations that make our region stronger.

A group of Dorney Park associates visit a local organization, Camelot for Children, and pose for a photo while holding handcrafted ornaments.

The gates may be closed for winter, but Dorney Park’s connection to the Lehigh Valley continues long after the final ride of the season. While the park rests, our teams lean into charitable giving and hands-on community engagement — supporting the groups, families, and organizations that make our region stronger.

From animal rescues and children’s charities to programs uplifting local heroes, this off-season will be defined by impact, generosity, and service.

Supporting Animal Welfare With Last Chance Ranch — One Pumpkin at a Time

As our fall season wrapped, Dorney Park donated all remaining pumpkins to Last Chance Ranch, an animal rescue that provides care, rehabilitation, and second chances to horses, goats, pigs, and other animals in need.

Pumpkins offer natural enrichment and nutrition for many of the ranch’s animals, and our donation helped support their feeding program during the colder months. It’s a small but meaningful way to ensure that the joy of our fall season continued to bring value to the community — even after the last guest left the park.

Brightening the Holidays With Camelot for Children

Our partnership with Camelot for Children is a cherished off-season tradition. Camelot provides year-round programs for children with disabilities, chronic illnesses, and life-changing medical conditions — and supporting their mission is something our team looks forward to every year.

This season, our associates visited Camelot to help craft handmade ornaments, each carrying the spirit of creativity and community. These ornaments then decorated a special Dorney Park–sponsored tree displayed at the IronPigs' Illumination Festival of Trees at Coca-Cola Park, introducing thousands of families to Camelot’s mission.

Behind every ornament was a story, a moment, and a reminder of what makes the Lehigh Valley so special.

Heroes for the Holidays: Honoring Those Who Serve

One of the most meaningful initiatives every off-season is Heroes for the Holidays — a shop-with-a-cop–style event that brings local first responders and children together for a day of connection, kindness, and generosity.

After shopping with the kids at a local Target, area police, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders are welcomed to Dorney Park, where we provide a warm meal, gathering space, and time to decompress and connect with the children they’ve just supported.

It’s a simple gesture — a meal, a table, a place to slow down — but it creates a powerful moment of community. Heroes for the Holidays strengthens the bond between first responders and local families, showing children that the people who protect them also care deeply for their happiness and well-being.

Dorney Park is proud to be a home for those moments.

The Off-Season Is Our Time to Give Back

While the midway may be silent and the coasters still, the work happening behind the scenes is filled with purpose. These partnerships represent what Dorney Park stands for:

  • Supporting children and families across the region
  • Honoring local heroes and first responders
  • Backing nonprofits that make measurable community impact
  • Caring for animals and the organizations that protect them
  • Living our values year-round — not just in-season

Community isn’t a seasonal initiative. It’s who we are.

Looking Ahead to 2026 at Dorney Park

As Opening Day approaches, our excitement grows — not just for the rides, but for the community moments we’ll continue building. In 2026, Dorney Park is committed to expanding partnerships, elevating charitable efforts, and finding new ways to support the Lehigh Valley.

The off-season may be quiet, but the heart of Dorney Park never stops.
