California's Great America Kicks Off Milestone 50th Season

California's Great America, Northern California’s Home to Iconic Thrills, has officially opened its gates for the 2026 season, marking 50 seasons of fun, memories and world-class entertainment.

Since first welcoming guests in 1976, the park continues to showcase its five-decade history from the iconic double-decker Carousel Columbia to the first-of-its-kind, single-rail rollercoaster, RailBlazer, highlighting the evolution of the park from its “Marriott’s Great America” roots to the modern-day destination it is today.

Six Flags Great America 50th Season Highlights Include:

  • Classic Great America Music: Original park music from its earliest years will make a triumphant return that is sure to evoke nostalgia for longtime fans.
  • South Bay Shores Opens for the Season: Included with admission, the connected California seaside themed waterpark with a variety of drop slides, tube slides and family-friendly lagoon area, will open for the season May 23.
  • Fireworks: The night’s sky will be painted with bright and colorful lights Sunday, May 24; Saturday, July 4; and Sunday, Sept. 6.

Unlimited Fun Across the Western US and Mexico with a Gold Pass

For a limited time, California’s Great America 2026 Gold Passes are available for as low as $79. This includes unlimited visits to California’s Great America, South Bay Shores, plus free general parking, in-park discounts and more for the entire 2026 season.

Six Flags has now also expanded the value of its 2026 Gold season passes and memberships with the launch of West Regional Park Access, giving guests unlimited admission to all parks in the West region — including California’s Great America, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Knott’s Berry Farm, Six Flags México, Knott’s Soak City and Hurricane Harbor locations.
