It's January 1976; the overall structure of Screamin' Eagle is complete and crews are in the process of laying the running stack, which will eventually hold the coaster's steel track. Over 550,000 board feet of lumber was used to build the much-anticipated, record-breaking coaster.

Step back to February 1976. Pictured are the lift hill and the second largest drop of The Screamin' Eagle as crews laid the steel track. In all, 3,872-ft of steel track was put down on this iconic wooden coaster.
