Why can’t children under the age of 13 enroll?

Six Flags Rewards requires us to maintain a certain amount of participant personal information such as email address, address, birthdate as well other information that may be necessary at different times. It also requires us to track the activities of participants as it relates to our park. Collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 is highly regulated by the US law (specifically, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, usually referred to as “COPPA”) which prohibits companies such as Six Flags from collecting children personal information online without implicit parental consent. Because Six Flags Rewards is at its heart an online program, it is subject to COPPA regulations.

The Six Flags Rewards program also requires every Member and Season Pass Holders to have their own unique (and personal) email address for program-related communication. We cannot knowingly send emails to children under 13.
