6 Unique Things You Can Only Do at Six Flags Magic Mountain
Great experiences that you won’t find anywhere else
With more roller coasters than any other theme park, you’re bound to have a unique ride experience at Six Flags Magic Mountain. In fact, some of our coasters were custom-designed for the park and are the one of the few of their kind in the world. We're one of the only places you'll get to experience such rare opportunities.
1. Experience the world’s tallest and fastest looping coaster.
It’s only here that you’ll find the world record Full Throttle coaster. No one else has ever looped around 160 feet in the sky. After three incredible launches from zero to 70 miles per hour, you’ll then tackle a never-been-done-before “top hat” that takes you riding on the outside of the world-record loop.
2. Sit in the same seat as some of your favorite movie stars.
Over 40 different TV shows and 20 movies have been filmed at the park – meaning you could ride a piece of Hollywood history! All theme park scenes of National Lampoon’s Vacation and the TV show Step by Step were filmed right here at Six Flags Magic Mountain. You can also ride some of the same rides that have appeared in Space Cowboys, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, Beverly Hills 90210, Drake & Josh, The King of Queens, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Bachelor, and more.
3. Explore the country’s best theme park.
Last year, we were voted by USA TODAY readers as the number one theme park in the country. We beat out all the other competitors, which means you’ll be visiting the top location for thrills. You’ll be able to experience all the world-class attractions that make us the best.
4. Ride the world’s first looping coaster.
All those giant looping coasters got their start and inspiration somewhere, the Great American Revolution as it was known in its early years, was the first of the bunch! Six Flags Magic Mountain is the only place you can ride the world’s first 360-degree loop, soaring through the sky 90 feet in the air.
5. Check out the best views of Southern California.
LEX LUTHOR: Drop of Doom is one of the world’s fastest and highest drop rides. As you dangle atop a 415-foot tower, you’ll be able to see for miles and check out the beautiful Santa Clarita Valley. It’s a great spot to take in the fresh air and get an overhead view of the surrounding countryside – before plummeting back down at 85 miles per hour.
6. Spiral around the track on the world’s first 4D roller coaster.
You’ll get the unique experience of riding outside the track on X2. As the world’s first 4D roller coaster, X2 was a groundbreaking inspiration in the world of thrill rides. Your specialty seat extends on wings far off the track, giving you the ability to rotate 360 degrees at any given moment, and plummet down drops head-first and face-down. X2’s state-of-the-art music and lighting were also carefully designed to heighten your sensory overload.
