Celebrating over 60 years, The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom in beautiful Lake George, New York is a theme park that has served as a summer haven for generations of families for decades. Today, it's home to over 135 rides and attractions including thrill rides, family rides and a full water park. Thrills await teens and adults on The Comet, rated as one of the world’s top coasters, and the 192-foot drop tower, Sasquatch. Little ones love the two children's themed areas, including Timbertown, and there's plenty for everyone in between. Splashwater Kingdom Water Park features eleven white water attractions and is included with the price of admission.
Six Flags Great Escape introduces Greezed Lightnin’, now open in the all-new Hot Rod, USA section of the park! This fiery new attraction features a single steel looping track. Riders will reach exhilarating heights and experience full revolutions both forward and in reverse before stalling for moments of suspenseful hang time over seven stories in the air. Guests will then feel the full velocity of Greezed Lightnin’ as they enter a series of gravity-defying 360 degree loops. This intense ride will rev up the engine of any thrill seeker. In addition to the all-new Greezed Lightnin’ looping coaster The Great Escape will be home home to the Northeast’s first inverting Virtual Reality Coaster, the New Revolution Virtual Reality Coaster, landing at The Great Escape this June.
On this new experience, riders are the co-pilots in their own fighter jets as they try to save the planet earth from an alien invasion. In this air-to-air combat, the aircrafts race through the city, following the exhilarating movements of the coaster as they try to get past the drones, penetrate the mother ship and destroy it. This elite fighter squadron experience will make its debut on the legendary Steamin’ Demon roller coaster located in Ghost Town.
Paying tribute to founder Charles R. Wood, the newly renovated western sports bar named Charley's Saloon captures the history of Dan McGrew’s, Ghost Town’s original Wild West Saloon that opened in 1957. The area was originally created as a place where fathers and sons could enjoy a “root” beer together. Staying true to its intent, this season the bar will feature Wild West theming, photos and historical information about the park and the park’s founder, as well as a uniquely designed menu featuring snack and sandwich items, signature drinks and various beers.
Just across the street from The Great Escape, guests can “Stay Where You Play” at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Water Park. Great Escape Theme Park tickets are included with every in-season stay. This Adirondack-themed lodge features 200 guest suites and a 38,000 square foot indoor water park — called White Water Bay — for the use of hotel guests as well as outside visitors. The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom, teamed with the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Water Park, are all you need for a complete and fun-filled family vacation!
