Six Flags Great America Hosts July 4th Fest Weekend – Presented by Coca-Cola

One stop destination for fireworks and live entertainment the whole family can enjoy!

GURNEE, Ill. — June 25, 2015 — Six Flags Great America presents its annual July 4th Fest – presented by Coca-Cola featuring exclusive ride time on some of the park’s biggest and best coasters along with a variety of park festivities and, of course, fireworks all weekend long.

Early Ride Time
Bring any can or bottle of unopened Coca-Cola product to receive early ride time. All donations will be given to Operation Homefront. Early ride time is from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Park admission is required.
•    Friday, July 3 – Goliath, Vertical Velocity, BATMAN The Ride, Revolution
•    Saturday, July 4 – Goliath, Whizzer, Viper, Giant Drop
•    Sunday, July 5 – Goliath, Demon, Raging Bull, American Eagle

•    Featured July 3, 4 and 5
•    Six Flags Grand Finale Parade kicks off at 9:15 p.m. with fireworks at 10 p.m.

Operation Homefront
Kicking off July 4th Fest on July 3, Six Flags Great America will host a, “Salute to Heroes Day” in partnership with Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront provides emergency financial and other assistance to military families. In addition, Six Flags Great America will donate $5,000 to Operation Homefront and provide five heroes and their families with VIP tours, meals and Gold Season Passes. 

July 4 – 6 Activities

•    The Coca-Cola July 4th Fest Zone, set up near Hometown Square, will include games, dance contests and entertaining activities, such as two-liter relay race, bottle cap challenge, frozen t-shirt contest and Goliath ring toss for a chance to win great prizes.
•     The Coca-Cola “Share a Coke” area will also be set up by X Flight, this will allow guest to print out personalized labels to put on a mini can of Coke and share another with a friend.
•     Coca-Cola will offer ice cold samples of Coca-Cola beverages in the park.

“We are offering the best 4th of July Fest yet with bands, entertainment and the best fireworks show in Lake County on Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” said Hank Salemi, park president. “Our July 4th Fest is an experience families can’t get anywhere else.”   

Six Flags Great America is celebrating 40 Seasons of Thrills this season. Initially built with a $50 million dollar investment, thousands of workers and enumerable details, Great America embodied the country’s bicentennial with classic Americana-themed territories when it opened in 1976. The park’s evolution over the past 40 seasons has lead the way with innovative, one-of-a-kind roller coasters, state-of-the-art shows and the development of a 20-acre water park.
