Ride coasters for a great cause!

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and Special Olympics Northern California have teamed up for the Coaster Challenge on Saturday, August 24!

If you are a thrill-seeker who loves to test your limits, then this event is for  you! The thrills and chills of endless rides on the electrifying coasters at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will leave you breathless and exhilarated, while raising funds to benefit the amazing athletes of Special Olympics Northern California. How many coasters can you ride in a day? Join us August 24 and find out!

Sign up today and, and raise a minimum of $150 and you will recieve the complete VIP Coaster Challenge experience including: 

  • Access to the park and select rides before the general public for all Coaster Challenge participants beginning at 9:00 am (1.5 hours before it opens to the general public).
  • Once the park opens, continue to enjoy FRONT OF THE LINE ACCESS on all of your favorite coasters until 12 noon.  This includes the popular Medusa, Superman Ultimate Flight and even the all new BATMAN: the Ride.

Which Coaster Challenge will you take on?

When you get to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, you will get to decide the Coaster Challenge you want to do.

Thrill Seeker 

Conquer at least 7 roller coasters (approximately 5K in distance) in one day and earn the title Thrill Seeker

Dare Devil

If you are feeling brave, tackle at least 14 roller coasters (approximately 10K in distance) to earn the title Dare Devil.  


If you are the ultimate thrill seeker, then put your limits to the test by riding at least 24 coasters (approximately 15K in distance) for the nearly 24,000 athletes of Special Olympics Northern California to earn the title Fearless.


Exclusive Entrance to the Park!

You can enter the park between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to ride coasters before the park opens to the general public and get a jump start on your coaster goals.

Registration Fees 

Register online for only $25. This fee is applied to your fundraising total.

$25 registration fee is waived for Season Pass and Membership Holders. You must show your Season Pass or Membership at on-site registration.
