Wildlife Spotlight: Elephant Appreciation
Be a Conservation Superhero
Show your appreciation for the elephants of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and elephants around the world during Elephant Appreciation Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21. It will be a party you won’t want to miss!
Each day, special treat presentations will be made to the elephants that include a watermelon feast and gigantic frozen fruit popsicles, plus many more surprises! You can also get hands-on at the Elephant Encounter and help us build enrichment items, like fun toys and snacks for the elephants to engage with and enjoy. You may even get to see them play with the toy YOU made!
To show appreciation and support for elephants around the world, we encourage you to visit the Conservation Station at the Elephant Encounter and make a donation to one of the many great organizations with whom the park partners with, including The International Elephant Foundation. A $5 donation to one of these groups will enter you in a drawing for many amazing prizes including one-of-a-kind animal-made artwork, a voucher to participate in our popular dolphin swim program, or even an up close one-on-one meeting with an elephant after the show! The Conservation Station will have important information about the serious plight of elephants in the wild and how you can help. Be sure to tackle the fun elephant fact scavenger hunt with prizes just for playing! Sound fun?
Ready to show the elephants at Discovery Kingdom how much you love them? Then we’ll see you on September 20 and 21 for Elephant Appreciation Weekend!
