5 Unique Things You Can Only Do at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
With roller coasters and animal attractions at every turn, you’re bound to have a unique experience at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. In fact, some of our attractions and encounters were custom-designed for the park, and we’re one of the only places you’ll get to experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.
1. Get an oceanic experience right in Vallejo.
Our Dolphin Discovery program gives you the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with bottlenose dolphins. You’ll spend quality time learning, touching, and playing with these amazing marine mammals. You even get the rare experience to go for a ride!
2. Experience a rare sea serpent roll.
It’s only here that you’ll find the legendary Medusa coaster. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is the only place you can ride the longest and tallest floorless coaster in Northern California, with seven relentless inversions and one of the tallest vertical loops in the world. Plus, no one else has ever attempted a “sea serpent” roll – a rare type of double-inversion.
3. Ride the head of a giant shark.
Hammerhead was the first Zamperla Hawk48 ride ever built, and one of only a few of its kind ever made. Our shark-shaped pendulum ride swings you around and around, completing seven full 360-degree loops in just 90 seconds.
4. Meet a legendary tiger.
Odin is our namesake white Bengal tiger renowned for his underwater agility. This big cat became a legend when images of him diving for treats underwater went viral. At our tiger exhibit, you’ll see Odin basking in the sun with his younger counterparts swimming through the water.
5. Have sharks circling around you.
Our Shark Experience aquarium brings you up-close to the ocean’s fiercest creatures. The state-of-the-art 12,000 square foot facility opened in 1992 as a new standard and first of its kind in aquarium design. The 300,000-gallon viewing gallery lets you walk through an underwater tunnel as sharks, fish, and stingrays swim around you. You’ll get the rare opportunity to view these creatures up-close and in all different angles as you walk underneath them.
