2018 Physics Day

Educational Event

Six Flags America presents the annual Physics Day private event on Friday, April 20.  Season Passes not accepted on this day.

This one-of-a-kind educational event includes interactive activities hosted by volunteers from the American Physical Society, American Association of Physics Teachers and Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum.

Teachers can augment their classroom teaching by assigning students lessons from our workbook, which uses rides and attractions within the park to demonstrate physics principles.  Students can also participate in real-life experiments by using one of the American Physical Society’s accelerometers to calculate speed, velocity, distance and then analyze the data they collect.

Students can meet Marty Kelsey and Beth Wilson, hosts of Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum’s television program STEM IN 30. Marty and Beth will be presenting hands-on experiments and activities throughout the park to give students some great insight to applications of physics principles. See more about STEM IN 30  here:

American Association of Physics Teachers and the American Physical Society join in hosting two fantastic contests which are open to all students attending Physics Day. See complete contest rules and rubric here: EGG DROP CONTEST RULES   ROLLER COASTER BUILDING CONTEST RULES
