The Mid-Atlantic’s Tallest Master Blaster Water Coaster Opens in Time for the Unofficial Start of Summer
Bowie, MD — May 16, 2024 — Six Flags America today announced the opening of Hurricane Harbor Maryland and the all-new RipQurl Blaster water coaster. RipQurl Blaster is an innovative water coaster which takes riders in a raft for a white-knuckle ride through three powerful uphill rip currents while zig-zagging through 550 feet of twists and turns. The ride features three breathtaking drops, three Reverse AquaLucent hairpin turns, and a pitch-black wall-hugging helix finale before the final splashdown. When it opens to the public on May 25, it will be the mid-Atlantic’s tallest ride of its kind.

RipQurl Blaster water coaster and Hurricane Harbor Maryland will open to the public for Memorial Day Weekend on May 25. Six Flags Pass Holders will have an exclusive opportunity to preview the ride on Saturday & Sunday, May 18 & 19 from 12-4 p.m. Diamond level Pass Holders will get in early beginning at 11:30 a.m. Hurricane Harbor Maryland is the DMV’s most convenient summer destination, located right off the Capital Beltway.
Hurricane Harbor features lush tropical landscaping, the region’s largest wave pool – Hurricane Bay, three family water play areas, an endless river with seven different water action zones and more than 15 slides from mild to wild.
