Community

Six Flags Friends is a series of programs throughout the Six Flags family of parks that makes a difference in communities by encouraging local involvement, supporting the mission of various non-profit organizations and bringing the thrill of Six Flags to children and families across North America.

Six Flags Friends is a proud supporter of hundreds of organizations throughout our Six Flags communities. Through our national partnerships, we successfully utilize our geographic span to make a difference as a unified family of parks. Six Flags America is also pleased to support the work of organizations that make an impact in our surrounding neighborhoods. It is the work of the organizations below that truly make our cities a better place to live, work and enjoy.

Buy One, Give One Programs

During Holiday in the Park Six Flags America supported Children’s National Hospital by donating plush bears to help give to patients this holiday season. Guests who bought a bear during Holiday in the Park will automatically give a bear to a child at Children’s National. Over the last three years, Six Flags America has donated hundreds of plush bears to non-profits around the Mid-Atlantic.

Seasonal Team Member Scholarship Program

Each season Six Flags America offers Team Members who are active college students the opportunity to participate in the Seasonal Team Member Scholarship Program. The purpose of this program is to help develop leadership skills and provide financial assistance for their higher education. In 2020, eight deserving Team Members were awarded with scholarships valuing up to $1000.

Project 6

Every year the employees of Six Flags America designate a Project 6 Day, a time to give back to the community. Project 6, which began in 2009, is a day that our team of employees go out and do various projects such a painting, cleaning, landscaping, filling food boxes and minor repairs. Every year the park is looking to the community to help them find the right project where they can make a difference for a person, family or non-profit organization that has a need that may not have other resources to get that need met. With one day and 30 to 60 Six Flags America team members coming together to create change, there is no project too small.
