America's Greatest Daredevil to Jump a Record 25 Cars
Six Flags St. Louis hosts Robbie Knievel on Thursday, July 3 at 1:30 p.m. for a record-breaking jump over 25 Dodge cars, beating his personal best of 23 cars. The announcement of the jump comes just one week after the theme park opened the Evel Knievel coaster, a tribute to Robbie's father, the Legendary
Evel Knievel. The event is sponsored by Coke Zero and free to guests with theme park admission.
"What an exciting summer at Six Flags St. Louis to be able to offer our guests an incredible roller coaster like Evel Knievel, " states Dave Roemer, Six Flags St. Louis park president, "and now to bring them an amazing jump by Robbie Knievel. Just another way that Six Flags provides the greatest entertainment and thrills for our guests."
Robbie Knievel was born in Butte, Montana in May 1962 and quickly followed in his famous father's motorcycle tracks. He began making jumps at age 4 with his bicycle and moved on to motorcycle jumps by age 7. Robbie's first show came at the age of 8 at Madison Square Garden and by age 12 he was on tour with his father. By 1979 Robbie had built his own reputation as the World's Foremost Motorcycle Daredevil.
Robbie has completed over 250 professional jumps including every jump his father attempted with the exception of Snake River Canyon which is in the planning stages. Robbie has set 20 World Records including the successful jump of the Caesars Palace Fountain in 1989 with his father looking on, and the Grand Canyon jump in 2000. In addition to his death-defying feats, Robbie has had his own TV show and is a partner in Knievel's Custom Cycles.
Six Flags St. Louis is the only theme park in the Midwest to offer its 12-acre water park FREE with theme park admission. Hurricane Harbor features a lazy river, speed slides, water thrill rides, a wave pool and a kid's area at no additional cost. Guests get two great parks, now at an even lower price, for an even greater value.
