Six Flags St. Louis Announces Christian Concerts For 2012

Newsboys, MercyMe and Third Day to Perform at the Theme Park

EUREKA, MO – January 13, 2012 – Six Flags St. Louis announces another great list of Christian bands that will be performing at the Old Glory Amphitheatre this season.  The 2012 Christian concert lineup features some of the music industry’s top inspirational artists including the following:

• Newsboys – June 23 – This Christian band recently released their fifteenth album, God’s Not Dead, in November 2011. While the group has seen their share of band member changes, Newsboys have been performing their brand of Christian pop rock for over 26 years. With numerous awards to their credit including DOVE, Billboard Music and SESAC awards, Newsboys remain a staple on the Christian music scene.

• Mercy Me – July 14 – One of the most popular groups in Christian Rock, this six man group has been performing since 1994.  Since receiving their first Dove Award in 2002 for the cross over hit, I Can Only Imagine, MercyMe has collected over 20 awards from the GMA Dove Awards, ASCAP, Billboard Magazine and the American Music Awards.  The group has also released eight studio albums including their latest, The Worship Session

• Third Day – August 11 – A multi-platinum-selling rock band, Third Day, has released fifteen albums resulting in fourteen #1 singles.  The group has been honored with four Grammy’s, twenty-four Dove Awards and numerous other music awards. Third Day’s most recent single release is Make Your Move from the album Move.  

Tickets for the Christian Concerts go on sale April 6. Surf’s up in 2012 as Six Flags St. Louis introduces the new Bonzai Pipeline in Hurricane Harbor.  This six-story body slide features launching capsules that will send guests flying down 290-ft.  of spiraling, looping slides. Hurricane Harbor is Missouri’s only free water park with theme park admission.Guests can enjoy unlimited visits to Six Flags St. Louis and Hurricane Harbor all season long with a 2012 Season Pass which may be purchased online at www.sixflags.com
