Six Flags Over Texas Debuts World’s Tallest Swing Ride
and New Shows

The 2013 Season begins on March 2

Six Flags Over Texas will kick off another record-breaking season of Texas-sized thrills on March 2, 2013 when the park opens for the an exciting year filled with new shows and a new ride! In honor of Texas Independence Day, the park will celebrate all things related to the Lone Star State with a park opening tribute and a special online ticket offer for guests visiting during Opening Day weekend, presented by Lowe’s. General admission tickets may be purchased on the park’s website for $18.36, plus tax, and are good for either Saturday, March 2 (Texas Independence Day) or Sunday, March 3.

The 2013 season at Six Flags Over Texas promises to GO BIG with three all-new shows, a new music festival and the debut of the world record-breaking Texas SkyScreamer. This season will also feature the exciting special events that have become tradition for Six Flags Over Texas guests to enjoy, such as Spring Break; Festival Latino, presented by M&M®, Snickers® and Dove; July 4th Fest, presented by Coca-Cola; Fright Fest; and Holiday in the Park.

Six Flags Over Texas will guarantee its reputation as the Thrill Capital of Texas with the opening of Texas SkyScreamer this summer. The swing ride will tower an amazing 400 feet above the ground and take its place as the park’s newest icon. Guests will ride in open-air swings as they climb to the top of the tower while spinning round and round. At full swing, guests will soar in a 124-foot circle at speeds up to 35 miles per hour with the rest of the earth below.

Six Flags Over Texas park president. “This innovative attraction, along with the rest of our Texas-sized collection of thrilling rides and entertainment, are sure to make 2013 a remarkable season.”

Another highlight this year is the opening of three new entertainment shows. Country Young Gunz is a show that will showcase some of today’s top country performers with a concert-styled production that will feature some of Dallas/Fort Worth’s top country talent. The show will debut in Majestic Theatre in early June. Miss Ruby’s Wild West Cabaret invites guests to be a part of its interactive performance featuring Miss Ruby and the gang. It debuts in late March in the Crazy Horse Saloon. Looney Tunes™: We Got the Beat will be a showstopper for the younger guests. This all new production will take place in Lone Star Theatre and will have Bugs Bunny and his pals singing, dancing and laughing to the beat. It opens in early June.

A new Christian music festival featuring two jam-packed days of music by some of the industry’s hottest artists is on tap to open this season. Rock the Flags takes place on March 29 and March 30 featuring artists such as Tenth Avenue North, Kutless, Skillet, The Afters, We As Humans, plus many more.
