Six Flags Over Texas Brings You Thrills by Day, Fright by Night

A NEW Haunted House and Texas-sized Scares Await Thrill Seekers

Six Flags Over Texas  transforms from a “theme park” to a haunted “scream park” during this season’s Fright Fest presented by SNICKERS®, the largest Halloween festival in North Texas. The bone-chilling thrills begin Friday, September 28, and continue weekends throughout the month of October. In addition to 15 days of fearful frights and ‘monster tainment,’ guests can enjoy the best collection of roller coasters in the Southwest, including the New Texas Giant and MR. FREEZE: Reverse Blast.

By day, the “scream park” offers Halloween-themed shows and treats for the little ghouls and goblins. But once the sun begins to set, the ghastly ghouls, goblins, and zombies, come out to haunt the midways. Among the many nighttime attractions are the park’s bone-chilling haunted houses, including the ALL NEW, Piggy’s Blood Shed.

Piggy’s Blood Shed: A long forgotten roadside attraction along Route 666, this hog farm, famous for its bacon and BBQ is open under new ownership. This genetically altered porker has taken over serving a whole new “Q” that taste like anything but chicken. Piggy’s stockyards and smokehouse have turned the tables on man versus beast and now houses a very human livestock. So be leery travelers, you may find yourself as the next blue plate special on Piggy’s menu. Stop into Piggy’s Blood Shed… its horror gone hog wild.
Cirkus Berzerkus (A Black Light Fright): Rated the best 3D haunted attraction in the Southwest, by Hauntworld.com, this attraction is back and ready to scare! Hurry, hurry, hurry, the circus is in town. Not just any circus, a circus turned upside down. Killer clowns that swing an axe and freak show freaks that will attack. Blood in the center ring will glow bright as you face this carn-evil in a whole new light. Rabid buffoons in greasepaint, you’ll dread to join in this circus because you might end up dead.
Cadaver Hall Asylum: The doctor is in…sane, criminally! Lose your mind and have yourself committed to Cadaver Hall Asylum. Insane inmates run rampant through the corridors of this once majestic sanatorium. Surgeons, who once cut with a skillful hand, now crazed from their toxic experiments, dissect, dismember, and disfigure at a slow and agonizing pace to feed their twisted urges. Step into the waiting room to be admitted, but watch your back as therapy in this gruesome clinic typically turns fatal.
Dead End… Blood Alley:  At the corner of Fear and Terror Streets is a turn you don’t want to take. The undead and carnivorous have laid claim to this long-abandoned and forgotten urban landscape as their “Deathtropolis.” Your missteps could be your last by entering this city of homicidal creatures. If fright is on your road map, “Dead End…Blood Alley” is just the destination. Take a wrong turn into terror!

Guests can also take a seat and enjoy some of the best ‘monster-tainment’ in North Texas as Six Flags performers showcase some devilish levels of entertainment.

Welcome to Arania’s Nightmare (The David Blackburn Southern Palace): This classic Six Flags Over Texas show is back as Arania, the Black Widow Bride, is on a manhunt for husband number 14. It seems the other 13 have all met with mysterious ends. This comical search takes place on the evening of the reading of the will of husband number 13, as Arania’s best friend, seer, psychic, and long-time bridesmaid conjure up likely candidates for Madame Arania. Throw in Arania’s lovesick lawyer, her man servant, and a cast of goons, goblins, ghoulettes, and a little something from the laboratory, and a hauntingly good time is had by all.
HOWL (Majestic Theatre): MTV has nothing on our own Howl-o-ween Top 10 Countdown. Jaxx, Gash, Vixen, Lotus, Scarlet, and Ransom perform music by Lady Gaga, Aerosmith, Run DMC, Styx, Kelly Clarkson, Kiss, Skillet, and many more. Fright Fest never rocked like this.
WBAT Fright Time Radio Remote (Silver Star Carousel Stage): Be sure to drop in on the crew of 1313 WBAT Fright Time Radio as they cook up some of the most rockin’ Halloween tunes and give away spooky prizes, including free Fright Passes! Your ghoulish gang of hosts keeps the thrills going all day with creepy trivia contests and shocking games that will make you scream for more. At WBAT there’s always thrills by day, fright by night.
Dr. Fright’s Final Freak Out (Silver Star Carousel Stage): There’s a party going on at the Star Mall Fear Factory, as all your neighborhood ghouls, zombies, and goblins bring Dr. Fright to life every evening at park closing. Once materialized, Dr. Fright gets the house a-rockin’ with a closing spectacular featuring music from the Disco Divas and Funk Bands of the 80s. Top this off with special effects and a cast of zombies and you’re sure to be dancing in the streets this Fright Fest.
Dead Man’s Party Presents Zombie A-ROCK-ALYPSE (Silver Star Carousel Stage and Majestic Theatre Stage): All of our Six Flags zombies and ghouls gather in a frightfully entertaining spooktacular musical and dance to the beat of their own demented drum.
Dead & Local (Back Porch Stage):  Guests can check out great live music from local artists.

There are plenty of kid-friendly activities to be found, too, including a costume contest, karaoke, and a trick or treat trail featuring Bugs Bunny and all of his friends.  Fun can be found at every corner, no matter the age of the ghoul or goblin, this season at Six Flags Over Texas beginning Friday, September 28, and ending Sunday, October, 29.  This year, Fright Fest is bigger and scarier than ever!  Park hours during this event will vary; please visit sixflags.com for more information.
