Six Flags Over Georgia has been providing family fun and thrills for over 40 years. Check below for some impressive highlights of the park's illustrious history.

History

Since opening the gates in 1967, six themed areas have represented the six countries whose flags have flown over Georgia during the state's colorful history. Those six countries are Mexico, France, Georgia, the Confederacy, Great Britain and the United States of America. Today, Six Flags Over Georgia features a total of 12 themed areas. In addition to the six originals, Gotham City, Metropolis Park, BUGS BUNNY World, Whistlestop Park, The Promenade and the Cotton States Exposition round out the park.
