BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND, SIX FLAGS NEW ENGLAND LAUNCHES 'GLOW IN THE PARK' — A NIGHTTIME PARADE
Nighttime Extravaganza Showcases World Renown Creative Team Including Cirque du Soleil's Chief Composer Benoit Jutras
Prepare to be “wowed” once again as Six Flags New England brings back the incredibly popular Glow in the Park nighttime parade. This spectacular world class production, created exclusively for Six Flags, will light up the night with an amazing display of imagery, music and magical performances for the entire family to enjoy.
Glow in the Park is the brainchild of world renowned creative director
Gary Goddard, the mastermind behind a long list of major attractions including the Amazing Adventures of Spiderman, Star Trek: The Experience and the
Jurassic Park River Adventure at the Universal theme parks. Goddard enlisted one of Cirque Du Soleil's premiere composers, Benoit Jutras, to create the music for the parade. For float designs, the internationally acclaimed conceptual parade designer Raul Rodriguez was commissioned. Michael La Fleur, whose resume includes artistic coordinator for Celine Dion's "A New Day" in Las Vegas and Imagineer for Disney, will create fluid choreographed numbers for the
Glow in the Park performers.
“Six Flags New England is proud of our diverse entertainment package and the reintroduction of the Glow in the Park nighttime parade is a great addition to our stellar lineup of family-friendly offerings,” said Larry Litton, Six Flags New England Park President. “Glow in the Park will add incredible energy to the close of a thrilling day at Six Flags New England and will be a lasting memory for our families.”
Glow in the Park will begin at the entrance to Hurricane Harbor and will take approximately 40 minutes to wind through the park. The parade will feature four custom-designed floats, two trolleys and approximately 55 performers and support staff members. Each float will be adorned with vibrant-multicolored lights, and be accompanied by a cast of talented performers and characters. The opening float will feature rhythmic gymnasts, extreme roller bladers, liquid drummers, stilt walkers and a live vocalist. The Amazonia float will follow close behind with an awe-inspiring smoke-breathing dragon tamed by marching armies. BATMAN is featured on the Gotham City float while the BATMOBILE,
THE FLASH, ROBIN and THE GREEN LATERN secure the perimeter. The Wiggles' famous cast of characters, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog and Captain Feathersword get ready to Wiggle on their Big Red Trolley. The parade will conclude with Bugs Bunny, his Looney Tunes pals and a cheerful pep squad. Foghorn Leghorn, Porky Pig, Sylvester and Tweety Bird will accompany
Bugs Bunny on his music float, Marvin the Martian will hover close by on his spaceship and Daffy Duck brings up the rear with the clean-up crew.
The Glow in the Park parade will run Memorial Day through Labor Day. For more information on the parade and all of the great entertainment at Six Flags
