DoSomething.org

DoSomething.org provides the tools and resources for teens and young adults to convert their ideas and energy into positive action. They offer weekly grants to young social entrepreneurs looking to take their projects to the next level and have a national clubs program, for young people to take the lead on causes they care about.  And each month the site features a national cause campaign, with a celebrity spokesperson and a specific call to action, so anyone can get involved.

In 2009, DoSomething.org will give over $300,000 directly to young people 25 and under, and close to 800,000 kids will participate through all of their programs. By 2011, 2 million will take action through DoSomething.org. Be a part of a generation doers. Plug in at DoSomething.org.

Five guidelines DoSomething.org lives by:

  1. Believe in young people. They can lead today. We don't require adults.
  2. Trust young people. We provide the information and activation strategies, but they decide what to do.
  3. Celebrate young people. All measurable contributions are valuable.
  4. Respect young people. We understand they have diverse abilities and constraints.
  5. Value young people. Our programs and products are free. We're not after their money; we want their passion, time and creativity.
