Park Policies

Because Six Flags is a family Park, we expect Guests to behave appropriately. Violating our Park policies may be cause for ejection from the Park without refund. For more information, please review the Park policies below.

DRESS CODE

Six Flags Magic Mountain enforces a dress code in keeping with our family environment. Clothing that displays inappropriate words, phrases or graphics are prohibited. Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times in the theme park. Bathing suits may be worn only in Hurricane Harbor.
All clothing is subject to management review and discretion. Park admission may be denied if clothing is deemed by management to be inappropriate.

BEHAVIOR

We expect all Guests to behave in a family-friendly manner. Line jumping, profanity and unruly behavior are offensive to Park guests and may be cause for ejection without refund. Guests are not permitted to save places in line, bypass others in line or exit the line and return to the same place for any reason. Guests exiting a line must go to the back of the line if they choose to return.

LANGUAGE

Guests using profanity or abusive language, symbols or gestures may be ejected from the Park without refund.

NO SMOKING

Six Flags Magic Mountain is a smoke-free environment. Smoking and e-cigarettes may only be used in designated smoking areas is prohibited everywhere in the Park, except for these designated smoking areas:

  • Near Colossus Cookery Restrooms
  • Fort Le John Restrooms
  • SUPERMAN: Escape From Krypton Restrooms
  • Bugs Bunny World Restrooms (behind Mooseburger Lodge)
  • Cyclone Bay Restrooms
  • Scrambler Restrooms
  • DC Universe Restrooms
  • Rapids Camp Restrooms
  • Inside Main Gate Restrooms
  • Season Pass Processing Restrooms
  • X2 Plaza
Smoking is prohibited by Guests under 18 years of age.

PETS

Pets are not allowed, with the exception of working service animals.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items are not permitted at any time:

  • Food/coolers (except special diet and infant food)
  • Lawn/folding chairs
  • Magic markers, spray paint
  • Aerosol cans
  • Glass bottles
  • Knives
  • Spiked clothing/jewelry
  • Fireworks/explosives
  • Firearms/ammunition
  • Chemical weapons, mace/pepper spray
  • Multi-tools
  • Skateshoes or any footwear with wheels
  • Wagons

RE-ENTRY

To leave the Park and re-enter on the same day, please get your hand stamped and re-enter at the re-entry gate. This includes Season Pass holders. Season Passes can only be scanned once per day.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Cameras are not permitted on rides. Six Flags Magic Mountain requests that all photographs or videos taken by Guests be used for their personal use and enjoyment only. Any use, reuse or reproduction for commercial purposes without the express written consent of Six Flags Magic Mountain is prohibited.

COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

By entering the Park, each Guest grants Six Flags Magic Mountain the right to film, videotape or photograph him/her on Park property for any reason, without payment or consideration. All Six Flags Magic Mountain rides, shows and attractions are protected by copyright. Guests must have written permission to use photographs and/or videotape of Six Flags Magic Mountain images for commercial broadcasting, advertising, marketing or publishing in any medium.

RAIN POLICY

Some rides and shows will close temporarily during electrical storms, heavy rains, high winds and other severe weather conditions. As soon as conditions permit safe operation, these attractions will re-open. Six Flags Magic Mountain does not issue rain checks or refunds.

As Guest safety is our number one priority, there are certain weather circumstances that may cause the entire Park to close earlier than scheduled or not open at all.  As soon as closures are confirmed the website operating calendar will be updated with the Park’s current operating status.  Please check the website prior to visiting on days when weather may be a concern.

RIDER RESPONSIBILITY

There is an inherent risk in participating in any amusement ride. We expect riders to exercise good judgment and act in a responsible manner. Guests must also obey all oral and written warnings and properly use all ride safety equipment provided. Guests who do not comply with ride rules may be ejected from the Park without refund. Please refer to specific guidelines posted at the entrance of every ride.

RIDE RESTRICTIONS

Safety is our number one priority. Guests with certain body proportions or of certain heights and/or weights may not be able to enjoy certain rides if the safety restraints will not operate as designed. Specific ride information is available at the ride and at Guest Relations. For your convenience, height check is available at Guest Relations, where you can also pick up a list of rides our smallest Guests can enjoy.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

For your safety, certain rides may need to close during severe weather, such as electrical storms, heavy rain or high winds. Most restaurants, theaters and shops will remain open. Rides will re-open as soon as safe operations can be assured. Refunds and rain checks are not offered for inclement weather.

LINE JUMPING

Line jumping is strictly prohibited. Guests are not permitted to save places in line or exit the line and return for any reason. Violators will be ejected from the Park without a refund.

LOOSE ARTICLES

Loose articles are not permitted on most rides and should be left with non-riders or secured in lockers. Six Flags and its employees are not responsible for lost or stolen items.  Loose articles of any kind (including but not limited to purses, backpacks, and beverage containers) may not be taken past the queue entrance and cannot be left on the load/unload platform of the following rides: Goliath; Batman: The Ride; Colossus; Scream.  Cell phones, pagers, or other small items must be secured in cargo pockets, zippered jacket pockets, or waist packs.  All loose articles which cannot be secured must be left in a locker or with a non-rider prior to entering the queue line.
