From Wiggles to Wedgies: The Great Escape 55th operating season to offer several new rides, shows and attractions for guests.
Celebrating its 55th year this season, The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom will open its doors to the public on Saturday, May 10th at 10am. This year will prove to be the most exciting year yet as The Great Escape will debut the Mega Wedgie and Wiggles World this month.

Get Ready to Wiggle!
The new Wiggles World children's area includes themed rides, including The Big Red Cars, The Big Red Planes, and Dorothy the Dinosaur's Rosy Teacups, Henry's Splish Splash pop jet fountain, as well as a new retail location, The Wiggles Gift Shop and the Yummy Yummy Café.
The new Wiggles World themed children's area will be inhabited by The Wiggles' cast of supporting characters: Dorothy the Dinosaur, Captain Feathersword, Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus, who will pose for photos with guests and perform daily in the "Get Ready to Wiggle" show in the all-new Wiggles Theater.
The Wiggles themselves - Sam, Murray, Jeff and Anthony - will appear at the park on Father's Day, June 15!
Wiggles World is designed to leverage The Wiggles' vast recognition and status among children ages 2-6. Since 1991, The Wiggles have performed to more than 1 million audience members a year. To date, they have sold more than 22 million DVDs and videos and more than 5 million albums worldwide, and The Wiggles' successful television show has been broadcast on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney since 2002.
Wiggles World will be the theme park's second themed children's area following on the heels of LOONEY TUNES National Park which was added in 2005.
'Mega Wedgie' Makes a Splash
The Mega Wedgie, an exhilarating new water slide with a whimsical name, will make its debut in Splashwater Kingdom on May 24. This bowl-shaped water ride is all new and was designed specifically for The Great Escape.
The Mega Wedgie waterslide will provide the most exhilarating and thrilling water ride yet! You'll drop 30 feet as you make your way down a 80 foot long, dark tunnel . . . before being whisked into a giant bowl where you'll spin around and around until you drop down a chute into the pool below.
The Mega Wedgie is expected to generate the same type of twisting and turning excitement that the Tornado provided in 2007. The new water slide will appeal to teens, tweens, and everyone who loves an exciting water slide experience. Mega Wedgie will complement all 10 of the thrilling attractions in Splashwater Kingdom making for a memorable waterpark experience for the entire family.
New Amenities and Food & Beverage Options
It's been said that 'variety is the spice of life,' and this year The Great Escape has invested approximately a half million dollars on food and beverage improvements for the season.
The park is pleased to unveil new restaurants and food stands, as well as upgraded food & beverage options for guests. Cold Stone Creamery ice cream and freshly made gyros will debut in the park's Storytown area. The Beer Garden, located in the park's Fest Area, will now offer freshly roasted meat at carving stations. Saddle Rock Café in Ghost Town has undergone improvements. A new food and beverage stand called Lumberjack Grill will be added to Splashwater Kingdom to provide guests with refreshing beverages and tasty snacks.
The new Wiggles World themed area for children will feature an all new restaurant called the Yummy Yummy Café, which will serve a kid-friendly menu including: hot dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, smiley fries, yogurt and chocolate dipped fruit, fruit salad (a favorite food of The Wiggles!), and PB&J sandwiches.
Poolside cabanas are also new for 2008 and will be available for rent at the Lumberjack Splash wave pool in Splashwater Kingdom. Cabana rentals will include a variety of amenities such as lunch & beverages, locker usage, and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Exciting New Entertainment
The Great Escape is expanding its entertainment offerings this year with new shows and character entertainment. In addition to the new "Get Ready to Wiggle" production which was designed specifically for Six Flags, The Great Escape will also introduce "Retro Rock", an entertaining tribute to rock and roll hits from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. The new production will debut at the park's Jolly Tree Theater this month.
