Twelfth Annual Fright Fest returns to The Great Escape

Ghouls, Ghosts and Goblins take over the park beginning October 2

The area’s largest Halloween celebration is back.  The 12th Annual Fright Fest Presented by SNICKERS® features a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy.  To kick off Fright Fest 2010, The Great Escape is partnering with the American Red Cross for a “Give Blood, Get Thrills” blood drive from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 30.  All donors will receive a free ticket valid any operating day in October.

It’s Thrills By Day…
The Great Escape offers fun activities for kids and parents throughout the day.  The littlest of monsters can stop by the Trick-or-Treat Trail to receive a Halloween treat from their favorite Looney Tunes pals. They can also take part in daily costume and scream contests and enjoy mini pumpkin painting and festive cookie decorating.  Electrifying entertainment throughout the day includes the live song and dance performance Love at First Fright and the Mr. Six Spooktackular Street Party.

And Chills by Night.
Once the sun sets, creatures lurk from the shadows and the park becomes a haven for the undead! 1313 No Mercy Lane, the home of the newly renovated Haunted House, features six brand new rooms and all new in 2010 is the terrifying Malice in Wonderland haunted walk through.  Wickedly scary street entertainment includes the cast of Dead Man’s Party and the Zombie Dancers in the Awakening held each evening as the park transforms into the spirit of Fright Fest.

Fright Fest also features a number of exciting special events including:

  • Bark in the Dark- Doggie Costume Contest, October 3
Guests may bring their dressed up pooch to the park for the chance to win great prizes.

  • Pumpkin Smackdown- Pumpkin Smashing Contest, October 31
Guests may bring their no longer needed Halloween pumpkins to the park and receive discounted admission to throw pumpkins at marked targets for the chance to win cool giveaways.

Fright Fest is presented each Saturday and Sunday beginning October 2 through October 31, with a bonus operating day on Monday, October 11.
