Three New Ride Experiences at The Great Escape in 2013

The Great Escape is pleased to announce today the addition of two brand new ride experiences for guests during the 2013 season. Along with the all-new Screamin’ Eagles, the park will debut the renovated Blizzard indoor scrambler and Marshal’s Stampede indoor bumper car attraction in Ghost Town.
Returning to its original home, the Great Escape’s Blizzard will once again be an indoor scrambler experience. The Fest Area dome, now the “Igloo”, will be the new home of the Blizzard Indoors. The experience will feature lights, sound and even air-conditioning. It is guaranteed to be a sensory overload for guests of all ages. The original indoor scrambler once called Chipper’s Magical Mystery tour opened in 1971 and was moved outside in 2005.
The Great Escape’s Bumper Cars have been moved to the Wild Wild West. Marshal’s Stampede Indoor Bumper Cars will open to guests on May 18th in its brand new location in Ghost Town. Guests will be able to challenge their friends and loved ones in an all-out stampede including an expanded driving area, sound and lights. Bumper Cars originally opened at The Great Escape in 1985. Each year, over 100,000 guests enjoy this beloved attraction.
These two additions will join the all-new Screamin’ Eagles in the terrific line-up at The Great Escape in 2013. Screamin’ Eagles highflying family ride promises excitement for thrill seekers and families alike. The interactive flying ride allows guests to pilot their own flight, with no two trips the same as they soar to new heights with this introduction of an amusement park classic. Screamin’ Eagles will open on June 1.
The park is busy gearing up for the exciting opening of the 2013 season on Saturday, May 18! Guests can purchase tickets to Opening Weekend presented by Lowes at sixflags.com for just $20.13 valid opening weekend only. Guests may also bring non-perishable canned food items to the park on opening weekend and receive the special $20.13 admission. All canned goods will be donated to the Salvation Army.
“The Great Escape has an amazing season of thrills planned for 2013 and this incredible ticket offer is a great wait to kick off the season and help out a wonderful organization,” said park president Eric Gilbert. “This season park guests will experiences all- new rides like Screamin’ Eagles, new games, attractions and great food offerings.
Also on tap for 2013, The Great Escape is excited to offer the all-new Season Dining Pass. A Season Dining Pass allows guests to eat one lunch and one dinner every time they visit the park. The program is added to the guest’s Season Pass so it is as easy as walking up to a participating dining location, ordering from the pre-selected menu, and swiping the participant’s Season Pass for a great meal. The pass can be purchased online for $69.99 per Season Pass, which allows guests to utilize the program from May 18 – September 29, 2013.
Great Escape 2013 Season Passes are on sale for $52.99, the same price as a one-day ticket, when purchasing four or more. Guests purchasing four or more passes will receive one FREE Season Parking Pass; the Season Pass must be processed by May 27 to receive the FREE parking. Individual Season Passes are $62.99.
The Great Escape is also introducing the new Gold Pass which includes free parking at all Six Flags Theme Parks on every pass, VIP early entry into the theme park and water park and a bonus bring a friend free ticket valid on select days. New for the 2013 season, The Great Escape is now offering Membership packages. For as low as $5.84 a month, guests can be a member of upstate New York’s favorite family destination and enjoy the best thrills, slides and rides all season long.
