3rd Annual Indoor Waterpark Duck Race
Race to Benefit Greater Adirondack Region Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
The Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark will host the Third Annual Charity Rubber Duck Race on Sunday, October 12 at 11am. The purpose of the race is to raise funds and to continue raising awareness for the Greater Adirondack Region Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
“The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is excited about our continuing relationship with The Great Escape”, said T.J. Roode, Branch Manager of the Greater Adirondack Region JDRF chapter. “With everyone's help, we are moving closer to our goal — a cure for diabetes and its complications.”
Hundreds of rubber ducks will race around the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark's Tak-it-eesi Creek. Donations of $5 per duck are being accepted at the Lodge's front desk, and ducks will be available until the start of the race. The rubber ducks will make their way along the 450 foot long lazy river with the first seven (7) ducks winning these great prizes:
- Grand prize: 1 night stay for four in the Lodge
- 2nd place: 2 2009 season passes to The Great Escape
- 3rd place: 2 one-day passes to The Great Escape
- 4th place: 2 one-day passes to The Great Escape>
- 5th place: CD Home Music System (MP3 ready)>
- 6th place: GPX Personal CD Player
- 7th place: 100 tokens to Starlight Arcade
Again, all proceeds will benefit the Greater Adirondack Region JDRF chapter.
