The Great Escape, Lake George

Six Flags Friends is a series of programs throughout the Six Flags family of parks that make a difference in communities by encouraging local involvement, supporting the mission of various non-profit organizations and bringing the thrill of Six Flags to children and families across North America.

Six Flags Friends is a proud supporter of hundreds of organizations throughout our Six Flags communities. Through our national partnerships, we successfully utilize our geographic span to make a difference as a unified family of parks. Six Flags Great Escape is also pleased to support the work of local organizations that make an impact in our surrounding neighborhoods.  It is the work of the organizations below that truly make our cities a better place to live, work and enjoy.
Six Flags Friends is dedicated to furthering the mission of the following organizations.

Double H Ranch for children and families dealing with life-threatening illnesses

The Double H Ranch, founded by Charles R. Wood and actor Paul Newman, provides specialized programs and year-round support for children and their families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. These children are precluded from attending other camps, but can attend the Double H because of the high quality medical care they receive while in attendance. The Ranch also offers family based support weekends in the spring and fall for families facing critical illnesses and the loss of loved ones. All programs are completely FREE OF CHARGE. Six Flags Friends is privileged to open our hearts and the gates of The Great Escape to the children of the Double H Ranch each week during our operating season. In addition,
Six Flags Friends is proud to host the Double H Ranch Gala at The Great Escape each summer. For more information on the Gala, please call Robin DeMattos at the Double H Ranch Development Office at 518-696-5921 ex. 228.

Spring Spin

"Spring Spin" is a fundraising program which allows non-profit organizations an opportunity to sell Six Flags admission tickets to the public for a substantially reduced price.   Each charity retains $5 from each ticket sold for their fundraising efforts. The Cub Scouts, Head Start, Cystic Fibrosis, Boys and Girls Clubs, and other local service organizations and youth groups are just a few of the hundreds of non-profit organizations who have participated and have raised funding through the "Spring Spin" program. Rubber Duck Race for Charity

Six Flags Friends is thrilled to host the annual "Rubber Duck Race for Charity" at The Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark each year.  This exciting event features hundreds of rubber ducks racing around the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark's Tak-it-eesi Creek -- a 450 foot long lazy river that holds 112,000 gallons of water -- to raise money for the Greater Adirondack Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Toys for Tots

Six Flags Friends is proud to partner with the US Marines' Toys for Tots campaign to collect toys for underprivileged children in our community. Toy donations are accepted at the Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark during a designated period of time and are distributed by Toys for Tots volunteers to hundreds of children in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga counties.  Guests and community members who donate toys to the drive are qualified to win a one night stay at the Lodge for a family of four, including admission to White Water Bay.

The Muscular Dystrophy Association

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary health agency that is dedicated to conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a million Americans each year. Military Appreciation Day

Six Flags Friends is proud to honor active members of the military by inviting them to visit The Great Escape with complimentary admission. Additionally, Guests of the Great Escape are asked to show their overwhelming support for US troops by signing an oversized banner which is then sent to troops serving overseas.

Unclaimed Lost and Found Donations

The Great Escape's lost & found department donates hundreds of unclaimed items each season to various community groups in need. For example, unclaimed eyeglasses, sunglasses and eyeglass cases are donated to the Lions Club, which distributes the items to underprivileged communities in developing countries. Six Flags Friends also donates a variety of unclaimed items to many other local organizations.
