Chicago goes bald!

The community comes together to shave their head for charity at Six Flags Great America

Six Flags Great America is ready to Go Big! and Go Bald! for St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Over 65 participants throughout the Chicagoland area, even Six Flags team members, have committed to shaving their head bald to stand in solidarity with children fighting cancer!

This special fundraising event takes place from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. on July 19th inside the Six Flags theme park. All donations go directly to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer research.

Registered participants will become a hero for these children and have an opportunity to earn a free ticket or free Season Pass to Six Flags Great America while doing so! There will be free food, games, face painting and early ride time on X Flight! Guests that want to attend can purchase a $26 ticket on-line allowing them entry to the 8 a.m. event. After the event, guests and participants have the privilege of staying in the park the rest of the day for free.

"This is a chance to give back and help support families in our community,” said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America Park President. "We are honored to lend our park and resources to provide a day of fun for such an important cause."

Why all the shaved heads? Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year, and it remains the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States. By shaving their head at this event, participants will help create support and awareness for childhood cancer research.

Those interested in registering for the event or donating should visit www.stbaldricks.org.
