Six Flags Great America Hosts 4th of July Festival
“4th FEST” to Include Fireworks, Funnel Cake Eating Contest and Live Entertainment
WHAT: 4th FEST, a patriotic 4th of July festival with 45 minute fireworks display,patriotic parade, characters, live entertainment and decorations including a massive American flag hung on the American Eagle coaster, funnel cake eating contest, wrestling show, specialty grilled foods and voter registration.

Chicagoland residents in search of fireworks this 4th of July need look no further. Six Flags Great America is set to host the first ever “4th FEST,” an all-day patriotic celebration.
The festival includes specialty grilled foods throughout the park, a funnel cake eating contest with cash prize, live entertainment, a wrestling show featuring former WWE star Scotty 2 Hottie and of course all of our signature rides and attractions. End the night with a bang with our patriotic nighttime illuminated parade and 45 minute fully-choreographed fireworks extravaganza. “4th Fest is our summertime answer to Fright Fest,” said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America park president. “As many area communities have to cancel their fireworks and festivals, we are offering a full-blown 4th of July celebration at the park. With 14 roller coasters, a 20-acre water park, specialty grilled foods, live entertainment and a 45 minute parade and fireworks show, 4th Fest is an experience families can’t get anywhere else.”
Celebrating its 35th incredible year, Six Flags Great America is located between Chicago and Milwaukee and offers fun for the entire family with 14 heart-pounding roller coasters, a free 20-acre water park, spectacular shows, a nighttime illuminated parade and three children’s themed areas.
