Six Flags Great America brings the spirit of Bourbon Street to Chicago
Gourmet food and live entertainment part of Mardi Gras Festival
If you couldn’t make it to Mardi Gras this year, Six Flags Great America is bringing Mardi Gras to Chicago on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24, 2012. The streets of Orleans Place and Mardi Gras will be transformed into a party atmosphere featuring the sights, sounds and tastes of Bourbon Street including live music, parades and fireworks.
Theme Park inspired Cajun dishes like Ragin’ Cajun Wings and Cajun Pizza, along with southern favorites such as Bourbon Potatoes, Crawfish and King Cake will be available throughout the event. “Blending traditional theme Park cuisine with the Cajun flavors of New Orleans has been an exciting project which is sure to delight our festival guests and enhance our park variety,” says Doug Hemphill, director of in-park shopping and dining.
The heart of the festival will be the Rue Le Dodge Bumper Car arena in Orleans Place which will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind dueling piano bar offering New Orleans inspired cocktails and live entertainment. Other festival offerings include nightly fireworks, parades and a crawfish eating contest.
