Memorial Day Weekend
Celebrate Memorial Day weekend at Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor. The park will welcome its one hundred millionth guest since 1976, open the sprawling 20-acre Hurricane Harbor water park, provide discounted tickets to U.S. military personnel and top it all off with a ceremony on Memorial Day with the U.S. Army.
100 Millionth Guest
Great America opened its gates for the first time on May 29, 1976 and since then millions of guests have flocked to the theme park for thrills. The one hundred millionth guest will be awarded a VIP tour of the park that includes instant ride access, game play, food and beverages. Will it be you?
Hurricane Harbor Opens
As the summer kicks off on this holiday weekend, Hurricane Harbor opens its gates with nearly thirty slides, a half million gallon wave pool, a colossal interactive water playground, lazy river, activity pool, surfing and more!
Memorial Day Opening Ceremony
On Monday morning, a special ceremony will take place at Six Flags hill with the posting of the colors by the United States Army and the singing of our National Anthem performed by some of the members of The Fabulous Drifters known for their hit “Under the Boardwalk” and now performing as The Nostalgics. Immediately following, Gerald Paulsen, former member of the U.S. Army Green Berets, will present The Remembrance Table in honor of all of our missing POW's and MIA's followed by Taps to honor all our fallen heroes. The ceremony begins at 10:15 a.m.
United States military personnel are invited to join us Memorial Day weekend and save 20% off a one day general admission ticket by presenting a valid military ID at the main gate ticket sales office.
