Six Flags Friends is a series of programs throughout the Six Flags family of parks that makes a difference in communities by encouraging local involvement, supporting the mission of various non-profit organizations and bringing the thrill of Six Flags to children and families across North America.
Six Flags Friends is a proud supporter of hundreds of organizations throughout our Six Flags communities. Through our national partnerships, we successfully utilize our geographic span to make a difference as a unified family of parks. Six Flags Great America is also pleased to support the work of local organizations that make an impact in our surrounding neighborhoods. It is the work of the organizations below that truly make our cities a better place to live, work and enjoy.
Children's Miracle Network
Children's Miracle Network is the alliance of premier children's hospitals. Every year, Children's Miracle Network hospitals treat 17 million children for every disease and injury imaginable and impacting the lives of more children than any other children's organization in the world. Children's hospitals provide state-of-the-art care, life-saving research and preventative education for children 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is a Children's Miracle Network hospital dedicated to serving children in every community across the United States and Canada. These hospitals are committed to providing the best care for children when they need it.
Six Flags Friends was honored to donate $10,000 from fundraising efforts at Six Flags Great America to help support the Children's Miracle Network and help ensure that children have the specialized care they need and deserve.
Coasters For a Cause
"Coasters For A Cause" is a fundraising program which allows non-profit organizations an opportunity to sell Six Flags Great America admission tickets to the public for a substantially reduced price. Each charity retains a portion from each ticket sold for their fundraising efforts. Coasters for a Cause is an easy and fun way to raise money for your favorite non-profit organization while offering our guests the best value of the season at Six Flags Great America.
Make-A-Wish Foundation
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. Six Flags Friends is proud to be a part of this amazing wish-granting organization and is excited to fulfill the wishes of children who dream of visiting Six Flags Great America.
Special Education District of Lake County Vocational Program
Six Flags Friends is committed to helping our local youth "Make Their Mark" on the world and to develop skills that will lead to successful careers. Six Flags Great America is pleased to open our gates to the Students of the Special Education District of Lake County and to offer a fun and interactive summer education program. The program consists of a 30 minute class each day coupled with hands on experience of working in our park service and food service departments. The purpose of this vocational program is to teach the students job skills that will prepare them for employment after they graduate.
Susan G. Komen Fund
Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Six Flags Friends is pleased to take part in a variety of unique fundraising events aimed at funding and raising awareness for breast cancer.
United Way Campaign
United Way's annual community campaign in the workplace is the most effective way to organize your company around helping to improve the community you work and live in. Six Flags Great America donates to various organizations including Give Kids the World, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Coasters for a Cause as well as other local, non-profit charities working for the public good.
