Six Flags to Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with Hurricane Harbor Season Opening
Weekend kicks off JERSEY BOYS theme park partnership

Six Flags Great Adventure will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with the season opening of Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, the kick-off of Adventure Alley’s partnership with Broadway’s JERSEY BOYS and the final days of special spring admission discounts.

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor’s 13th Season Blows in May 26
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor kicks off its 2012 season May 26.  The 45-acre, elaborately-themed water park is one of America’s largest, and features a million-gallon wave pool, one of the country’s longest “lazy rivers,” a giant, two-story family water playground, more than 20 high-speed thrill slides, and will soon debut King Cobra a massive, visually-stunning, racing tube slide--the first of its kind in the U.S.

King Cobra’s unique configuration enables two tubes to race through a circular path with twists, turns and surprises through enclosed and open sections of the slide at speeds up to 32 miles per hour.  The ride’s finale features a sudden, 25-foot plunge at a 50-degree angle with riders racing until the heart-pounding finish as they appear to be swallowed by the massive mouth of the cobra.  The ride is expected to open in early July.

Hurricane Harbor will operate weekends May 26 through June 17 including Monday, May 28, and daily June 22 through Sept. 3  Six Flags Hurricane Harbor season passes may be purchased at the gate or online. Three-park passes (for theme, safari and water parks) are also available.  For more information and to order passes, call 732/928–1821 or visit the web at www.sixflags.com

Broadway’s JERSEY BOYS to Sponsor Adventure Alley
Beginning Memorial Day Weekend, Broadway’s blockbuster musical JERSEY BOYS will sponsor Six Flags Great Adventure’s newly-themed Adventure Alley section. Complete with a retro vibe, Adventure Alley will feature four new rides including SkyScreamer, a 24-story extreme swing ride, plus three rides that offer classic, family thrills.

JERSEY BOYS, based on one of the most successful 1960s rock ‘n roll groups, the Four Seasons, garnered four Tony Awards including 2006’s Best Musical.  It has toured major cities all over the world, and will now lend its iconic sound to Adventure Alley as its songs will play every hour on the hour.

"This partnership is a true integration of two iconic New Jersey brands.  We are thrilled to bring the music and excitement of Jersey Boys into the newest section of our park, Adventure Alley, where guests can enjoy their favorite rides and songs together," said Carley St. Lucia, director of corporate alliances for Six Flags Great Adventure.

In addition, JERSEY BOYS fans can look forward to a special day devoted to the musical, expected to take place at the park July 2.  Other May events include:
• SkyScreamer previews to season pass holders May 17-20
• Daily theme park operation begins May 23
• SkyScreamer opens to the public May 23
• Coca-Cola’s buy-one-get-one-free admission offer ends May 28
