Six Flags Great Adventure Prepares for
Fall Event Extravaganza
Six Flags Great Adventure will kick off autumn with spectacular concerts and dynamic events. Steven Curtis Chapman will take stage as part of the STARBURST® Summer Concert Series and Aventura Latina will feature live performances by popular Latin artists. Guests will also attend ACE Riding of the Bull, the coaster event of the season, as well as the annual Wild Safari Cross Country Invitational, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Six Flags Grape Adventure Food and Wine Festival.
Steven Curtis Chapman Live in Concert Sept. 17
Contemporary Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman will take stage at Six Flags Great Adventure Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. Chapman’s repertoire includes 20 albums, five Grammy awards and 56 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. The singer/songwriter will perform hits such as “For the Sake of the Call” and “Dive” in the Northern Star Arena free with theme park admission or season pass.
Park to Host Latin Performers in Aventura Latina Sept. 18
Six Flags Great Adventure will host award-winning Latin artists at Aventura Latina Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. The live event will take place in the Northern Star Arena and will feature musical performances by Victor Manuelle, Zone D, Tambora, Ivan La Voz and Alexander Gocho. Guests can purchase discount tickets through www.sixflags.com. The event is free with theme park admission or season pass.
ACE Riding of the Bull Tres to Draw Coaster Lovers Sept. 24
American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) of New Jersey, the local chapter of the world’s largest roller coaster enthusiast organization, and Six Flags will host the third-annual ACE Riding of the Bull event Sept. 24. The event includes exclusive ride time, a photo scavenger hunt, Mexican fiesta-themed dinner and behind-the-scenes tours. After park closing, enthusiasts will enjoy exclusive ride time on El Toro, Rolling Thunder and Bizarro. Six Flags to Hold Sanctioned Race in Wild Safari Sept. 24
Middle and high school track teams across New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware will compete in the second-annual Six Flags Wild Safari Invitational Sept. 24. The race will provide students with a unique opportunity to wind through 3.1 miles of dirt and grassy terrain including protected woodlands, a scenic creek and 1.2 miles of the Six Flags Wild Safari American Section. Athletes will see animals such as rhea birds, Roosevelt elk, bison, ostriches and more. Athletes, coaches and spectators will be invited to enjoy the theme park and an awards ceremony. Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Hopes to
Raise More Than $1.7 Million Oct. 2
Six Flags Great Adventure and Susan G. Komen will host Race for the Cure Oct. 2. The charity walk is expected to attract more than 20,000 participants and spectators and hopes to beat a goal of $1.7 million raised. Guests will run, walk and volunteer as a community to celebrate breast cancer survivors and to remember those who lost their battle with the disease. Visitors can register at www.komencsnj.org.
Six Flags Great Adventure to Host Post-Season
Wine and Food Experience Nov. 5 & 6
Following October’s ever-popular Fright Fest celebration and the official ending of the 2011 operating season, Six Flags Grape Adventure will offer guests a special opportunity to sample local wines, food and gifts partnered with a VIP Wild Safari experience Nov. 5 and 6.
Six Flags Grape Adventure will feature nearly 150 locally-produced wines for sampling, handcrafted gifts and dishes from neighboring eateries. Younger guests will enjoy activities in the Animal Adventure Camp area including the park’s Please Touch Ambassadors, small exotic animals and arts and crafts. Visitors will also be able to purchase a special Wild Safari package which includes a private tour of the safari and special wine tasting in the African Plains section among the giraffes.
