Six Flags Great Adventure to Host 30th Annual Physics Day April 27, March For Babies® and Gym Class Heroes in Concert April 29
Six Flags Great Adventure invites guests to enjoy a weekend full of physics, philanthropy and fun beginning with Physics Day April 27 and continuing with the March For Babies® charity walk and a live performance by chart-toppers Gym Class Heroes April 29.
Physics Day
Six Flags Great Adventure will become an outdoor classroom as the park hosts teachers and students for Physics Day on Friday, April 27. Working in partnership with area physics teachers, Six Flags Great Adventure created Physics Day to help students set theory into motion.
Now in its 30th year, Physics Day challenges students to solve teacher-designed problems based on ride experience, covering aspects such as acceleration, speed, velocity, frictional force and centripetal force. Students will board coasters including Nitro, El Toro and Green Lantern to measure the ride’s “G” forces with accelerometers they have designed in the classroom.
March For Babies
Participants of all ages will gather in the park for a walk-a-thon to benefit babies of Ocean County. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk will step off at 8:30 a.m. Guests can visit marchforbabies.org for more information or to register.
March for Babies® is the premiere fundraising event of the March of Dimes ®. Money raised for March for Babies® supports the March of Dimes® mission to give every baby a healthy start by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
Gym Class Heroes Live in Concert
Six Flags Great Adventure will welcome rap-rock group Gym Class Heroes presented by Coca-Cola and 92.3 NOW April 29 at 4 p.m. in the Northern Star Arena. Guests will enjoy the concert free with theme park admission or season pass.
