-
BIZARRO - The most anticipated ride transformation of the summer has landed at Six Flags Great Adventure with the revolution of the iconic coaster, Medusa, to the all-new BIZARRO. Key thematic elements of the attraction are designed to emulate the powers and abilities of DC Comic villain, BIZARRO. The 3½ minute thrill begins with a pulse-quickening 142 foot climb before plummeting 60 miles-per-hour through BIZARRO's freeze vision "cool zone. The rush continues as riders twist and turn through seven loops - including 114-foot vertical and 96-foot dive loops - blast past bursts of BIZARRO's fire breath, and race by bizarre scenes and illusions. The mind-boggling 3,985-foot twisting journey of storytelling and high-tech elements ends by sending riders head first into a spiked-shaped Auger of Doom, set inside interlocking corkscrews.
-
Saturday Night Lights Fireworks - Beginning July 4, Six Flags Great Adventure will debut the most dynamic fireworks series in the company's history with "Saturday Night Lights." Produced by Pyrotecnico, the 2008 international award-winning show took top honors in the world's most prestigious fireworks competition L' International des Feux Loto-Québec at La Ronde in Montréal, Canada, beating out nine competing countries from across five continents.
Restored Park Icons
-
Big Wheel - Beginning April 4, 2009, guests will experience the breathtaking view of Six Flags Great Adventure on the completely refurbished Big Wheel. One of the original 1974 attractions at the theme park, the Big Wheel has provided guests with awe-inspiring views from above Six Flags Great Adventure for 35 years. The 15-story tall park icon will feature 7,824 new energy saving LED bulbs, 101 gallons of vibrant-colored paint and for the first time, an animated light display.
-
Iconic 19th Century Carousel - Six Flags Great Adventure has begun a three-year restoration of its 128-year-old wood-carved carousel, one of the few remaining in the world. To mark the carousel's 35th Anniversary at Six Flags Great Adventure, the park will remove each of the 36 wooden horses and cockerels and then delicately sand and masterfully repaint each by hand. The brass jumping poles will also be replaced with 36 new bright and beautiful brass poles. The carousel will be open for guests to enjoy throughout the entire process this season.
-
Glow In The Park Parade - Back by popular demand, The Glow In The Park parade will debut a new elaborate float showcasing Kingda Ka, Big Wheel and Mr. Six. Beginning Memorial Day weekend, guests will watch in awe as drummers, puppeteers, singers, dancers and kinetic stilt walkers create a nighttime spectacular in this uniquely-themed parade produced by the renowned Gary Goddard Entertainment group.
-
