GREEN LANTERN

The new GREEN LANTERN stand-up coaster at  Six Flags Great Adventure towers
15 stories high and sends you through more than three quarters of a mile of twisting green steel.  Unlike traditional seated coasters, GREEN LANTERN lets you to stand throughout the entire course of the ride that delivers a experience unlike any other.

January 2011





GREEN LANTERN's lift topping begins.





The lift's crown gets secured in place.

December 2010





Concrete is set and forms are removed from their piers.





The construction team begins to fill-in and level the ground around the footings.





The next section of footings await forms to be built around the GREEN LANTERN's remaining piers so concrete can be poured.



The final stages of setting the anchor  bolts that support the columns have begun.  This is where the highest  point  in the first turn will be.  You will reach a speed of 63 mph on the down side of this first turn.




Here the anchor bolts are set and two mixer trucks are feeding a concrete pump that fills the forms, in a few days the forms will be removed.

Train frames are stored and await assembly.





Maintenance teams work hard painting and assembling the GREEN LANTERN cars.





Cars are moved to one of maintenance’s winter shops where seat padding and harnesses are attached.





Freshly painted fiberglass train elements are set aside to wait for final details and installation on the
GREEN LANTERN trains.





November 2010
