Tava, a 29-year-old female African elephant, holds a football
embellished with the New England Patriots’ logo which was her prediction to win Super Bowl XLII on Friday, February 1, 2008 at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California.

Tava’s prediction was based on her scoring points by kicking a team football through a set of goal posts. After a coin toss which gave the New York Giants the first of five kicks, Tava accurately kicked two balls between the goal posts, giving the Giants a 6-0 lead.  After scoring two for the Patriots to tie 6-6, Tava kicked an overtime, sudden-death tie-breaking field goal giving the New England Patriots the win by a three-point spread.  Last year, Merlin, one of the park’s dolphins, accurately picked the Indianapolis Colts to win.
